No peeks from me, but plenty of eye candy...

Hi everyone! I am off this morning to go play with some babies and then errands galore which also includes a little side trip to the local scrapbooking store. I had thought about trying to fit a little cardmaking class in there too, but I guess it really depends on how the boys are. The store has a nice little play area, but... their morning is going to be full so I don't know if they would be up to it.

Hmmm... what is up with that picture?? Well, head on over to Clearly iStamp to check out all the details.

Anyway, I do have another really cool card to share with you, but I'm definitely going to wait until tomorrow for that one. I don't have any Clear Dollar Stamps sneak peeks for you today, but these lovely ladies do. They are going to be showing you another super cute set called Woodland Critters as well as a really cute pickett fence that will sell as an accessory stamp.

Have fun with all the eye candy and I hope you have a wonderful day.

Clear Dollar Sneak Peeks #3 - Sunflower songs and April SOM

Its Monday! Is that good or bad?? Well, in my world it means school for the kiddo and work for the hubby so its a little bit of both I guess. Anyway, today is another day of new release stamps to share with you from Clear Dollar Stamps. I enjoyed both these sets just as much as the others... have you yet seen a stamp you didn't like?? (hehe)

I have 4 cards again for you today. The first 2 were made using April's stamp of the month. This is a great bonus set that you get FREE just for spending $50 at the store. Seriously, you can get a lot of stamps, embellishments, tools, etc at Clear Dollar for $50. April's FREE with purchase set is called Silhouette Wishes and is another great all around set to have.

For the 1st card, I stamped the same image several times with a couple of different colored inks. I stamped on a scratch piece of paper to remove a coat of ink to get the lighter images.

I then took one of the stamped images and cut it out and just glued it onto my cardstock at the branches base so the top just floated freely. I hid all that under my "vase" which I created by using SU! label punch and cutting off one end. I ran that through a cuttlebug folder for some texture and inked it a little bit too (hard to see in pic).

After that was all done, I did some sewing on my card and assembled my sentiment and I was good to go. Here is a close up.

For my 2nd card using this stamp, I created my own background for it and made it nice and springy. You can't get any springy/summerier than pink, yellow, and orange.

************************************************************************************
My next two cards feature a stamp set called Sunflower Songs. I leaned towards more of a fallish them, but I absolutely adore these colors together.

And finally, my last card is a nice bright, bold card. My main goal was to focus on the letter "f" and I chose the friend sentiemnt to use on my card. I'm still on my acetate "thing", so I cut the letter "f" using my cricut and to give it some depth, I stamped on it using White Stazon. And check out that crocheted flower... ala my lovely Mother-in-law! Hi MIL :) We all love and miss you!

I know, I got a bit slow winded there, but I have to be honest and say that I'm pooped and still have lots of other things to do. Thanks for stopping by and just another couple of days and you'll be able to order all the lovely goodness soon to be available.

Go check out thes other ladies for more inspiration and sneak peeks.

Ooops... I forgot the one more thing...

Sorry, forgot one piece of information from the post below. Its time for a new Guest Designer spot for Clear Dollar Stamps for the Month of April. Remember, you can't get if if you don't try :) Click -->HERE<-- for all the details. The here will take you directly to the link on Lori's blog explaining all the details. Chow for now, again.

Clear Dollar Stamps Sneak Peak #2 and more...

Good morning everyone! I hope you are having a wonderful and relaxing Sunday morning. Today is day 2 of sneak peeks for Clear Dollar Stamps April Releases. If you didn't catch the peeks yesterday, just scroll down.

Today, I've got lots to share with you. I have a total of 4 cards to share which make up 2 new stamp sets. Both are so cute yet different from each other. The first one is called Cat-tastic and is for all you cat lovers. If you, yourself aren't that fond of kitties, I bet you know someone or many someones who are.

I grew up with cats in the house and had one name Tibby in my early adult hood, but when she passed away, we never got another one. I think that was because at the time we had 2 dogs as part of the family. Then when Hunter was born we knew he had allergies, but as he got older and we got him tested, cats were listed as probably the number one and most sever allergic reaction. If there is too much dander around he tends to get on the wheezy side. Unfortunately he is also allergic to other animals such as dogs, rabbits, chickens, etc. Oh and trees and grass. Poor kid huh?

Anyway, cat stamps are perfect though :) For the first card, I paired my newest Basic Grey designer paper called Marrakech with PTI's Dark Chocolate. I love that little sentiment - "I'm watching you... (hehe). The cat actually reminds me of little kids when they play in boxes too.

The 2nd card is much brighter and I think just fun. I paired that one up with some of my DCWV Nana's Kids papers. I also put some on the inside of my card and then added my sentiment "that stinks!" to the inside too.

*********************************************************************************************

My next cards are of a new Charliene set that is coming out called Charliene April Showers. If you are a Charlie and Charliene fan, you will definitely want to add this one to your collection. For the first card, I focus on white and black and added yellow as my spot of color. I guess its actually more than just a spot, but I still love how this card turned out.

I lifted her umbrella and boots up and then added 3D Crystal Lacquer to it. Wow! I have to say that I love that stuff and of course love the sentiment that goes along with the stamp set. Here are a couple of close up shots of the umbrella and the boots.

I went more fun and bright again with my second card from the Charliene set. The funny thing is that I only used one of the little accessory stamps that comes with this set. Little ducks just make me think of swimming, which made me think of waves, but in reality, I'm not so good at making waves... so I ended up using scallops as my waves. This card was a lot of fun to create though.

I used A LOT of pop dots though to get the look I wanted. Each layer had to be raised one higher than the next. In my next picture you'll see that I continued to use that Crystal Lacquer. What you won't see is the mess it made when my little lid thingy fell off and it dumped onto my card. What you are seeing is a new layer over the old layer as I carefully sopped up the mess. Of course at that point the entire card was done so I wanted to save it.

The paper is some really fun stuff from TaDa Creative Studios. I actually used several components of one just one sheet of designer paper to get all the design elements on my card.

Well, that is it for me. Make sure you head on over to Laurie, Candy, Kim, and Tori to check out even more sneak peeks.

Thanks for coming to visit and I hope you have a wonderful Sunday and rest of your weekend.

Clear Dollar Paper Craft Planet Color Challenge and Stamp Something Challenge

Happy Afternoon/Evening! I've got another card to share with you today. Its another double duty card. Its one I did for the Clear Dollar Stamps Color Challenge over at Papercraft Planet and it follows the sketch over at Stamp Something Challenge Blog.

The color challenge was a fun one this weekend. Pick a color and keep it monochromatic. Nice huh? Click --->HERE<--- for all the details for the color challenge. I used Close to my
Heart colors - Tulip and Sorbet and the designer paper was part of a special promotion that we had not too long ago.

I did some extra stitching and in all honesty I did this to offset the fact that some of my layers were a tad off (shhh... don't tell). I used a newly released CDstamps set from this month that I hadn't had a chance to ink yet. Its a beautiful set called
Beautiful Butterflies. I embossed it using Versamark Black and clear embossing folder and then used matching ink and a waterbrush to color it in. I used my Octagonal Nesties to frame my butterfly - love that too. I guess there is just too much love here for the tools of the trade.

Thanks for visiting and make sure to come back tomorrow when I will have some sneak peeks :)

Have a great night! PS... sorry the format and font are all wonky. All I have to say is sheesh and whatever!

Clear Dollar Stamps Sneak Peek - Day 1

Good morning everyone! Today begins all the wonderful previews for the April releases at Clear Dollar Stamps. Make sure to come back everyday to see something new here or I'll at least direct you to where you can see them :)

My preview is one of those handy little sentiments just in time to give you loads of time to prepare for Mother's Day. One of the things that I love about Lori's store is that she offers single stamps that are super affordable and are easily obtained to enhance your own stamp collection. Its true... sometimes you just want that one little sentiment or image. AND I just have to put this out there to everyone too. Lori is incredibly open to ideas and requests by customers. If there is something that you are interested in let her know by sending her an e-mail. You never know, maybe you aren't the only one looking for something.

Now for my card. I used a light pink background and actually kept it quite simple by using the beautiful Basic Grey paper from the 6x6 pad called Porcelain. I love the lace look. Then I added some beautiful ribbon and a pretty bow. I took 2 lengths to get the criss cross look and then added another length to create a fuller bow. Then I took my Kaisercraft Pearls and just stuck them on the corners of my card as well as placing them on the bow. I LOVEE self adhesive. These pearls stayed perfectly in place. Then, I just added my pretty sentiment.

Now head on over to Laurie's, Tori's, and Candy's to check out a new set called Dirt Rides and then you can also see Horse Poetry at Laurie's, Candy's, Monique's, and Kim's sites.

Oh and don't forget to check out Lori's blog too. She's got some neat samples up!

Thanks for visiting and have a great day!

"Hi"

Wow, I have to reiterate that I am feeling much better. I actually ventured into the big world outside briefly to run a quick little errand. Now, I need to get the house cleaned up (after this - hehe).

So here is that card I promised you. Just another fun, cheerful, and bright card. This one is the exact opposite of yesterday since the entire thing is stamping, but there is no coloring so it was actually quite quick and not much else either.

The colors are Watermelon (bright pink), Sunflower (bright yellow) and white. I used the grid from Papertrey ink's Guidelines set for my foundation in Sunflower and then a medallion stamp from Clear Dollar Stamps set called Art Deco Medallions. The bright pink is a first time stamp (as in ink and stamp right away) and the lighter pink is the same ink, but stamped on scratch paper first and then stamped onto my card.

The "Hi" is from a Close to my Heart set called Say it in Style and the ribbon is from PTI. Thanks for visiting :)

Here's my list... and more to come later

Hi all! I do have a card to share with you today, but my computer has been hijacked by my dear hubby who is doing whatever needs to be done to keep all that precious information safe and sound, so I am using his instead, but I can't upload my photo... blah...blah...

So... I thought I would go back to that list for the awards that I got the other day. The first one was from Jenn and was this cute little bug. I am listing my top 10 faves, but you know the truth, there's way more than just 10 places I love to visit. Feel free to take, keep, and/or pass on.

Well, if you don't know who Lauren Meader is well... what can I say. Just go check her out! I have another Lauren for you to visit too. She is artistic and inspiring in other ways! Love her clean lines and design. I just got an award from Desire, but she deserves this one too. Again... multi talented. Definitely go visit for oodles of inspiration. Laurie Wilson always has some cool hints and tutorials on her blog. In fact her latest one is one of those, "duh, how come I didn't think of that" little ones that just makes the world go round more smoothly. Nancy is must see too. She is so humble about her talent and has a winning personality to boot! My 6th person is Tracey at Tray's Spot. Haha, I don't know anyone who has more birthdays to make cards for. Its incredible! Make sure to go visit Tori who makes beautiful things and always has some incredibly interesting stories to share... some of them are "like seriously, that happened to you?" And Linsey who always has such nice things to say and is always so generous with the praise. She can be you know, because she has tons of talent herself! Almost done here... Linda is someone who writes the most detailed blog posts about her cards! If you want to know exactly how she makes her cards read, read, read. All her creations are so detailed and exact your breath will be taken away! And last, but not least... my very dear friend Becky. She is someone that has become a very dear friend and who only lives a couple of minutes away from me and guess what? We met via the internet ala Splitcoast. How weird is that?

Well, that's it for me today. I'll get to the other award later. Now I have to go and visit everyone and tell them I've been plastering their good name everywhere - lol!

Take care and Happy Friday! And I promise I'll be back :)

For You - Let the paper do all the work

Hi everyone! I'm slowly recovering but did have some eye candy for you. This is a super simple, bright, and fun card. There is barely any stamping - just a simple sentiment (from Clear Dollar Stamps) . I used a piece of Nana's Kids in the 4x6 size pad and matted it on some CTMH cardstock. I also did a little bit of additional sewing on it and added some PTI ribbon. That was it! The paper is so busy and I figured I might as well just let it shine.

Thanks for visiting and have a great day.

Tuesday, March 24, 2009

Hi everyone! I am back, but with no eye candy, but some thanks to share. The other day, I was sent a very nice award, the one below, by Jenn Embry. She is a fellow Close to my Heart consultant and even though I don't have a lot of CTMH stuff on my blog, I do indeed love the product (all of it) and think its especially nice to receive an award from someone else who obviously shares my same enthusiasm for such great product.

Thanks Jenn for coming to visit and taking notice. When you go check out Jenn's blog, make sure you stay a while to visit and then make sure to go visit her top 10. They will all inspire you too.

My next thanks go to Desire from Doing Life. If you haven't ever been over to visit you should definitely RUN or CLIcK as fast as you can. This woman is the definition of talent. She not only creates gorgeous layouts, cards, jewelry, but she is also an incredible photographer to boot. Plus she lives in South Africa which has a whole other mystique for me.

Thank you Desire for always coming to visit me and commenting!

I promise I will pass on these awards, but I'm pooped now. I have not felt this badly for this long in, I can't even remember when. This type of illness is very unusual for me.

Take Care!

I'm ready for Easter...

Well, I am still in the world of the living... what can I say except that none of us like to be sick huh? Anyway, I just wanted to share a basket that I made for a tutorial over at Clearly iStamp Blog. I was really happy with the way it turned out. If you want to see more details on how I constructed it head on over.

Hopefully, I'll be back later for something else.

Thanks for stopping by!

Song Bird Silouettes

So, if you noticed, yesterday's post was for a challenge that was last week, but I was ahead of the game for this weekend's color challenge. You can find all the necessary information -->HERE<-- Its the Clear Dollar Stamps Color Challenge over at Papercraft Planet. This is a great way to dust off those Clear Dollar Stamps you might have (although I'm sure yours aren't dusty).

The Stampin Up! color names are Bashful Blue, Real Red, Chocolate Chip, and White. Since I don't have SU! cardstock, I always have to substitute so I ended up using some American Crafts Designer Paper for my blue and chocolate, and then used Papertrey ink's (PTI) Pure Poppy and Chocolate for the rest of the accents - color is color no matter who makes it :)

I used one of my new EK Success border punches for the bottom border. I have to say that I really like these new punches. I also embossed my red center piece with my cuttlebug bird folder for some additional interest, added some Close to my Heart pewter spirals ( I love pewter anything) and PTI Chocolate ribbon.

But, at the center of it is this great bird stamp from Song Bird Silhouettes. I used a Close to my Heart ink called Heavenly Blue and it matched up pretty well.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you are happy and healthy today. Our family is hanging in there. I spent most of yesterday in bed - I would feel ok for a bit and then absolutely horrible later.

Last Weeks Clear Dollar Color Challenge over at Papercraft Planet

Well, it appears that we are all sick in one form/stage or another. Poor Will hasn't gotten all the gunk out of his eye and it just looks irritated right now. Nate had goop at one time and then it went away and he is as happy as a clam. Hunter was complaining about a sore throat and his ear hurting, but he seems to be ok at the moment. He didn't seem all that distressed during his time at home yesterday (lol) and me... I don't think I can figure out how I want to feel. I'll think positive!

So... this is a card that I started last week for the Clear Dollar Color Challenge over at Papercraft Planet. I had great intentions, but just ran out of time and umph. I did finally get it together and like many cards we all make, it didn't end up at all the way I had originally planned the card, but do like the end results. This weekend's color challenge is practically here. Make sure to go back and visit for all the details.

Its actually a pretty simple card, but I love the look of the embossing. I originally grabbed my buttercup cardstock and started to stamp with my buttercup ink, but I just didn't like the look of it. I had wanted tone on tone, but it wasn't giving me what I wanted. So what I ended up doing was using Versamark and clear embossing powder and then I sponged the Buttercup ink all over and I still got the tone and tone, but a more interesting overall result. Plus, I really liked the way the ink made the cardstock look; almost gave it a neat textured look.

The flower stamp I used is from this month's Stamp of the Month from Clear Dollar Stamps called Sweet Hummingbird - spend $50 and get this very cute set FREE. It comes with a super cut hummingbird and other images too.

Then I use my very pretty sentiment from the Words of Sympathy set. If you are looking for a great Sympathy set with lots of variety, this is a really great one.

Well, that is it for me. Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a Fabulous Friday!!! I know you are probably super glad to see it roll around :)

Some Outerspace Love

Hi all! Where did the weekend go? Today, we were supposed to go to MOPS, but poor Will still has the goopy eye. I did take him to the Dr.'s and its the usual that we hear. Don't really know what's wrong... but here... Anyway, I got an eye drop prescription and did find out for sure that he doesn't have an ear infection. Our insurance stinks so any visits other than well checks are paid out of pocket until deductible is met, blah, blah, blah. Its the same old story for most of you too.

But, now on to the fun stuff... I don't often showcase my Close to my Heart stamps, but I really felt like they needed some love. I truly think their stamps are wonderful quality and there is a huge range of types and styles. And of course, my main love is for the CLEAR!

Anyway, I've had this awesome paper called Stardust and a little matching stamp set called Reach for the Stars for a while and they are just too terribly cute together.

I stamped my image, cut out the wings, and the smoke plume and used dimensional to give some extra depth. Plus, I used some of my Liquid Glass to accent the wings and rivets on the ship and I used Copics to color in my ship.

Well, that is about it for here. I need to go down and clean up my crafting area. If you have time, head on over to Clearly iStamp Blog where I've featured a couple of great stamp sets that are being retired!

Thanks as always for stopping by and I hope you have a wonderful Tuesday!

Hello - a sketch and challenge

Hi all! I have to say I just adore this card. This one fits the bill for Amy Rysavy's sketch and blog candy as well as Stamp Something's Challenge which was green for this week.

I decided to use this cute little dragon image from Stampavie that I ordered from Embellish-it Scrapbooking. I had never ordered from there but was super pleased with their delivery speed and prices. I just happened to catch it at the right time for some extra savings and a special they had going on.

Anyway, I started this whole card based on the designer paper from TaDa Creative Studios. I focused on the green, but used the blue and aqua accents to add on to my dragon. He is colored with Copics and is just plain sweet to look at.

I also have to say that the ribbon is really cool too. I got that at Clear Dollar Stamps and it just fit in with the rest of the card. It has a two tone blue/green shimmer to it. And of course those green flowers are the ones from Michael's bridal section colored with Copics too. These particular ones are actually the cream colored ones instead of the white ones. I originally wanted to add some green rhinestones to the center of the flowers, but alas I didn't have any so I had to settle for my Lime Green Stickles.

I hope you have fun plans for today... not sure what we are going to be up to.

Thanks for visiting and have a great day.

Stamp Something Challenge Card - Moscow Domes

Hi everyone! Here is a 2nd card for today. I made this card for the Stamp Something Challenge Blog. The challenge this week was all about Favorites... that is essentially an impossible concept for the papercrafter isn't it?

How about at this second, my favorite item is this particular stamp from TaDa Creative Studios called Moscow Domes. Creating your own background is really big right now and that was exactly what I wanted to do with this specific stamp. I have also seen some great examples using black and some sort of aqua/teal combo out there in blog land too.

Again, a simple and short post, but I hope enjoy the eye candy. Until later... tootle loo :)

Recipe:
Cardstock: Black, Ocean (Close to my Heart), White (papertrey ink)
Ink: Ocean, Black (Close to my Heart)
Stamps: Moscow Dome (TaDa Creative Studios)
Other: $ store ribbon, Close to my Heart Rhinestones, Close to my Heart paper Flower

Howdy Partner

Howdy Partners - yeehaw! Look at 'ole Billy all dressed up ready to go to the rodeo.

Can you believe that I had this piece of cardstock and designer paper sitting around waiting to be used with this stamped image for probably a couple of months at least. Well, I finally got around to it.

I used a new EK Success border punch for the bottom and then added some embroidery floss to the holes and as accents towards the top of the card. I have to say that I really like those new punches. They punch really well and they also have a little switch that allows the handle to stay down. Very sleek for a border punch.

Although the card is done and I don't plan on re-doing it, but if I were, I would move my sentiment tag to the other side and change the direction of it which would also mean that I would have ended up with my stitching on the opposite too.

I don't have all the details and to be honest, you probably don't need them, but if there is anything you want to know, just ask.

Stamp is Billy from Pink Cat Studio and I used my Copics to color.

Thanks for visiting... its short and to the point. Its Thursday already... where does the time go??

Wow, a Layout!

Alright, this page is nothing special, but I'm excited to have done it. I wanted a super simple and clean title page for Nate's album. I haven't even started his album and they are 3 - ack!!! I did start one for Will, but I didn't like the first page so I will more than likely do a different one, but I will be honest and say that I probably won't get to it for anther 3 years (lol).

Anyway, I really wanted to use this background paper that I found at Joann's eons ago, but lucky me, I couldn't find one piece of anything at home to match. I started out wanting to use my cricut for a title, but ended up just printing on a transparency instead. I used the SU! slot punch to weave my ribbon through - again, I had to pick white, because I couldn't find anything colored to match. Anyway, then I decided I wanted some sort of small embellishment, but again, no luck. I ended up using some Papertrey buttons that my friend Brandi sent my way - she is so awesome! I started out trying to add more buttons, but in the end I ended up with just these 2 buttons.

What can I say... one page at a time :)

Thanks for visiting and have a great Wednesday!
