Have a fairy happy birthday

Here is my story. Lizzie Ann Designs is celebrating their 2 year anniversary and I had been wanting to make a card for their contest. They had several sketches to enter and I of course procrastinated and then I finally decided that I was going to get down to it. I love their fairy stamp and wanted to use glitter because I've just been into glitter. I really need to get a different color, but right now, I'm into purple and purple glitter.

Well, I'm working away on my card and then BLAM it hits me. Wait a second, I'm supposed to be following a sketch - duh!!! Oh well, the point being is that I really still like this stamp and I had my own vision and I enjoyed making my card.

Again, this isn't exactly what I had envisioned, but the end result was nice. Glitter is one of those things that I just can't capture in photography. The purple Martha Stewart glitter is really shimmery and pretty. I used it all over the place on this card. The star shaped mat was cut using my cricut and the circle was cut using my nestabilty. I just took a zig glue pen and then sprinkled glitter on the tips as well as on the fairy. I did color her first with my copics. Then I used a glue pad to edge my cardstock as well as stamp my sentiment (Stamping Bella) and then sprinkled glitter onto that. Since I don't have any gold glitter, I used my Copic Spica gold glitter pen to add sparkle to her crown, wand, and her dotted trail. I love those glitter pens. I also had no intention of dotting the background of my fairy, but mistakes lead to altered visions I guess :) Rhinestones are Hero Arts and are self adhesive - the only way to go if you can.

Thanks for stopping by and visiting. Hope you have a great day.

I think this card is great. I love how you did the dots behind the fairy. I know you said it wasnt intended, but I think that adds to the card. Makes me think she is floating in a sky full of fairy dust! Great Job!-Erica

Katie! LOVE that card! Yes, I remember chatting a couple of times. Thanks for the comment on my card. Have you heard of the Sisterhood of the Blogging Stampers? I'll post a link here and you can check it out to see if it's something you'd like to join. It's basically a group of blogging stampers (from around the world) who belong to groups of 20 and just support and share with each other. You're welcome to join us! I'm in group 21, along with a couple of other CTMH consultants but I know there are other groups that have consultants and it's not really a CTMH thing, anyway. http://www.sisterhoodofthebloggingstampers.blogspot.com/
