ETA: I am also entering this over at Moxie Fab's - Olympics of Stamping for the Season's Greetings category.
Hey all, I have a card to share with you that was both an oops and non 00ps. I had planned to use this card for Waltingmouse Stamps first blog hop until I looked back and realized I had forgotten the "spring" aspect of the blog hop - duh...
But either way, I love this card and love that I've got one more Christmas card under my belt. I used the Vintage Labels 4 Nestie stamp set to create this card.
I did need to pair a fabulous Clear Dollar Stamps set called Old Time Christmas though to get my holiday card from this and overall, both Claire's set and the CDstamps set worked beautifully together.
I also used some new Tim Holtz rock candy crackly stuff and lots of glitter. I have a cuttlebug snowflake die that I cut out, put the rock candy stuff over that, but then decided that I wanted glitter so I figured I would put the glitter on top and see what happened. When it dried, you couldn't see the cracks, but the glitter was very stuck which was a good thing. Then I decided to add even more rock candy on top of the glitter and see what happened. Overall I liked the end result.
Then I opted to add some inking with a sponge over my snowflake, but I didn't want the entire thing to be colored, but you can see how there is definitely some crackling affect even over the glitter.
I then used some of my favorite May Arts ribbon (Sheer Twinkle white). It is shimmery, but very translucent. I decided to go ahead and stamp on it and see how it turned out. Again, the look was subtle, but perceptible.
And finally, I had to use on of my all time favorite holiday papers from TaDa Creative Studios. You might be able to find it in stores still, but this particular paper won't be produced again.
Thanks for stopping by and have a great Tuesday.
