Clear Dollar Stamps Sneak Peek #4

Hi friends, this is the last day of sneak peeks which means that tomorrow is the big day - get those shopping cards ready! But before we get too far ahead of ourselves, these are the stamps being previewed today: Leaf trio - Chrysanthemum November Flower - Poinsettia December Flower - of the Month (What a pane)

Remember, full reveals and samples can be seen on Lori's blog - Clearly iStamp.

Here is my card for Leaf Trio... this is a great little trio of leaves and I had fun making this card. Can you see the dots in the background of my designer paper? I used bubble wrap to create that look. I like it :)

I also like the fact that I don't have to color these leaves if I don't want to. They are quite versatile and you can add them with other stamps or use them independently.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Stamp of the month - What a Pane

Well, I have to say these were definitely not a pain to do, but were really fun. This is going to be a great stamp set to add to your collection. All you have to do is have a minimum order of $50 and you will get this stamp set for free.

Here is my 2nd card. I love the clean look and all the white on it.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Chrysanthemum November Flower

I see this flower and I think fall... who doesn't love everything associated with the autumn. For this card I stamped the flower with versamark and used gold embossing powder on watercolor paper. I then used a waterbrush and markers to color it in.

My next card is a complete contrast to the first one. I love combining black and pink and thought it turned out pretty this way. I'm also all about easy and simple and that is what this card is. I used Versamark and clear embossing powder and then inked the entire image with pink dye ink. I then used the text stamp that comes with this set and stamped it over the entire image with more pink dye ink.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Poinsettia December Flower

This is my last stamp set I'll be sharing with you... phewww... thank for sticking with me :) Another favorite flower of mine... the poinsettia. I love the red ones the best and so I ended up with 2 cards that used red, but next time I promised myself I would make a card with pink or the pale green pointsettia.

Ok, I love this card... I think it was one of my favorites and it was very easy to do. What can I say except that I do love to emboss. I used gold embossing powder and stamped my flower several times. I then cut out the sections that I wanted, spritzed them and wrinkled them out and then let them dry. I then just layered them over my stamped image.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
And here is my last card. Again, I went with red, but I used my Copics to color this in and then cut the flower in 4 sections.

Wow, thanks for coming and remember that everythign will be available tomorrow - yay! Don't forget to visit these fellow DT members for even more sneak peeks.

Clear Dollar Stamps - Sneak Peek #3

Hi everyone! I hope you are enjoying your weekend so far. I am down in Chehalis with my friend visiting my Mom as well as doing a class using Tim Holtz products and techniques. I'm sure I'm having fun right now (since I'm scheduling this post). Actually, I'm excited to be using some Tim Holtz stuff since this is one area that I'm not very familiar with at all. I am hoping to take lots of pictures :)

But, while I'm gone it is day 3 of Clear Dollar Stamps sneak peeks. All previous and everything that will be shown until August 31st will be available for purchase first thing on September 1st.
Before I get to my samples today, I do want to remind you that if you haven't visited this POST you are missing out! There is still time to get your entry in for a super Grand Prize that will be drawn sometime late on August 31st.

So without further ado, you can see samples and full reveals of these following stamps - Cool ride - gas can - '39 Coupe - '68 Corvette, '57 Chevy - '56 Pickup - '69 Camero - '65 Mustang at Clearly iStamp.

So here are my samples. I actually love these cards. For all you fans of masculine types of stamps these are for you. My first card uses the '56 Pickup and in line with a masculine theme I kept my card clean and simple.

My next card features the '65 Mustang and I don't know why, but I had to make it red :) I especially don't know why since my very first car was a '66 mustang convertible. It was a very fun car, but not necessarily the most fun thing to have when living in the Pacific Northwest. I drove it during the winters and it would literally freeze inside and out! It was powder blue and perfect... it was a really great car.

For this car, like I said I made it red and then added some great silver accents with my Versamark Pen and some silver embossing powder. Again, I kept it clean and simple.

This is it for me today, but here is the list of the rest of the DT members that have samples to share.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

Clear Dollar Stamps - Sneak Peek #2

Hi friends, its day 2 of Clear Dollar Stamps sneak peeks. Today's featured stamps are Charlie Harvest - Get off your Tuffet - At the Races - Tea-rrific. You can see the full reveals on Lori's blog, Clearly iStamp.

At the Races is going to be a great card for little and big boys alike. I don't really differentiate between the two - do you??? This first card of course might lend itself to the younger version just because its a bit brighter and a little more "fun". I thought the gears in the background paper are really neat looking and would fit with the stamp.

I also love the trophy image in the set too. I really think this image will match up well with any type of contest theme card that I might need in the future. I used my Gold Spica Glitter pen to give it some great shine.

Now my next card began with the intention of coloring in the image, but while I was putting the pieces together, I thought it looked great just as it was. I love the bold strong colors of this card.

************************************************************************************
I love coffee and coffee related stamps and although I'm not a huge tea drinker I still have a passion for tea stamps too. Ok... I must admit I'm pretty easy when it comes to stamps (hehe).

This first card pairs two colors that I love to put together. Papertrey ink's aqua mist and spring moss. I also was trying something different by using my hexagon nestability and cutting my tea pot off center, but it just looks weird... always just slightly off... lesson learned.

My 2nd card uses more Papertrey ink cardstock. I just got the newer Scarlet Jewel and it has a very rich color to it and to me looks rather vintage, thus the lace. I also stamped the tea bag on the background and stamped the cup, the creamer, and the sugar bowl.

That's it for me but make sure to go visit my fellow DT members to see a lot more inspiration and the rest of the sneak peeks.

Chicken Fried Chicken

Ok... 3rd post.... keep going.

I'm sorry, but I just had to share this. Some know and some don't know, but my husband does all the "real" cooking in the family and he does a darn fine job of it too! You be the judge. I thought I would share some "look what I ate" instead of "look at what I made".

Stamp Something Challenge - Animal Somethings

2nd Post for Today... keep going!

Its Friday which also means that it is another opportunity for you to come play along with the Stamp Something Challenge Blog. This week's sponsor is no other than Wendy Hall from Louby Loo. Wendy creates some really cute digital images. Plus, she always has downloadable freebies on Fridays.
How fun for me since Wendy is also a fellow Clear Dollar DT member.

Your Stamp Something Challenge is all about animals :) I opted not for the animals but went for the housing itself. Isn't this barn scene the cutest. I added a couple of animals from some TaDa Creative Studios paper to finish off my scene and check out those buttons. I thought the tree just screamed for those little guys.

I used Copics and a lot of it (hehe) to color in this scene. I ended up printing it out rather large and it ended up taking up the whole card, which in this case was perfect.

I drew the cloud by hand and then cut it out and then stamped the sentiment from a Clear Dollar Stamp called Everyday Jar-gon. I actually did that so I could change out the sentimetn if I wanted since I didn't have a clear purpose for this card, although the sentiment I did chose is about as versatile as you can get.

Well, that is about if for me so thanks again for coming on by!

Clear Dollar Stamps Sneak Peak #1

Well friends... its that time again. Lots of exciting new stamps at Clear Dollar Stamps are going to be released in just a few days. Today, you will find sneak peeks of these following stamp sets:
  1. I A-door You
  2. Hockey Time
  3. Romans 8
  4. The Grind
Full reveals can be seen on Lori's blog - Clearly iStamp and I'll have a list of the other DT members that are having sneak peeks today listed below.

I am lucky enough to share two sets with you today - I a-Door You and The Grind. If you didn't notice, the I a-door you is another super cute pun set. For my first item, I created a cute little notecard or tag. It just depends on how you want to use it. The main stamp image (the door) is a great size so I was able to stamp it and cut it out and have a great little card. I didn't do it, but I really imagined it as a super cute tag to attach to any of those canned or jarred fruits and vegetables that you made over the summer.

If you look closely you can see that I stamped the jars on the envelope behind the little notecard. I also did cut out the window on the door part too.

I colored it using my copics and did a one coat job. I like the slight difference of color that one coat leaves.

My next item using this set is a traditional sized card and once again, I used my copics to color in my image. I love this can and flowers. When I was little we used to have a door that was split in half and could be opened with just the top half. This door reminds me of that one.

I achieved the look on my door panel by stamping in Memento Tuxedo Black after I had colored with my Copics and then took the blender pen (0) and just ran it over and over until I had removed most of the color and the sentiment was easier to read.

*************************************************************************************
My next two cards use the stamp set The Grind and anything having to do with coffee is a must have for me. I kept the stamping somewhat subtle and I used the Costco (huge) pack of paper that has been in my stash. I used the beans stamp and the coffee grinder stamp for this card and the sentiment in the corner to finish it off.

My next card is a brighter sort of card and the colors are very pretty. Doesn't that cup of coffee look yummy.

That's it for me today, but I'll have more tomorrow and today you can go visit these fellow DT members and see their sneak peeks.

Thanks for coming to visit and have a great day!

2 pictures to share and some musings

Hi everyone! As most of you know my mother in law visited last week and one of the things she helped me do was make some Strawberry Jam. I had never made jam before and it was a lot of fun and it turned out yummy! I will definitely do this again. Here is one jar that I sent back with her to share with Grandpa. Nothing too terribly fancy about it, just played with a couple of stamps here and there to "jazz" it up just a tad.

(circle border on top is a PTI stamp and everything else is are Clear Dollar Stamps)

My next photo is just one that I found very humorous and a perfect image to capture. I was so glad that I had my camera to snap it. There have been times that there have been the perfect image of something but no camera. I should really just carry it around everywhere I go.

Anyway, we had just dropped MIL off at the airport and had to stop by to get our espresso beans. We love a place in Seattle that has the best fresh beans and try to pick them up if we are in the area. We were at a stop light and I looked over and this is what I saw.

It also made me think about how isolated we all want to be. If we have head phones in our ears or are texting/working on some sort of electronic device then we aren't being rude to those next to us, but if we were all standing side by side with strangers without anything excelpt ourselves then there is always the "awkward" silences if no one speaks. The niceties of conversation seem to be lost in our new world of technology.

Just an observation and I "think" a funny picture or at least one worth noting.

One last thing... if you have been interested in a guest design team position at Clear Dollar Stamps is that time again. Go and have fun and submit your card... you never know :) CLICK HERE for all the dirty details.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

A Season of Splendor

Hi all! I have to say that we bidding a sad good-bye to Kevin's mom today. We all got up at the crack of done and left for the airport where we will fondly wave good-bye as soon as we kick her out of the car. Don't worry, we'll slow down and make sure she lands on a curb.

Haha... did I get you? I remember the good ole days when there was a lot of excitiement associated with the airport. Now, its completely lame... yes, I do get the safety issues, just want to give a big sigh and say "ahhh remember when..."

Anyway, we are all terribly sad to see her go. She is the best mother-in-law ever. I'm all caught up on laundry, dishes, and general cleaning, plus I got lots of stamping time in. But... I couldn't let your leave wihtout some cards. I had her choose whatever she wanted from the stash and then got to working on her Christmas cards.

She and her hubby love cardinals and this stamp from Close to my Heart was perfect. I can't think of the name of the set, but I think its the sentiment that's on the card but don't quote me.

I wanted to make a card that was an easy mailer but you now how it is... its just too hard to resist just a little dimension. The birds are cut out and attached with some thin pop dots. Check this too... she even cut those birds out for me... her own cards.

Anyway, that's it for now. Just wanted to share!

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day. I bet I'll need a nap later on.

Birthday Somethings

Hi friends... its Friday and that means its time for a Stamp Something Challenge. This week its a very practical one and you've got all week to play along - A Birthday Challenge.

I grabbed a set that I've had for a while and hadn't gotten around to using. How many cupcake sets can one have? Unfortunately, the answer is not enough (lol). This particular set is from a Muse and is called Cupcake Builder.

I paired it with some Papertrey ink Text-Styles designer paper and some Dark Chocolate cardstock. I used my Copics to "ice" up my cupcake and added the cute sentiment .

I guess I've been feeling the simple lines recently, but I really like how this turned out.

Thanks for visiting and make sure to head on over to Stamp Something to check out the rest of the design team's samples.

Wanta get spooked and an award

Hi everyone! I finally have some things to share with you. First, I was lucky enough to be a recipient of this very sweet award by Wendy from Louby Loo.

When you receive this "Beautiful Blog Award" you are to list five things you like to do and pass it along to five other deserving blogs.

Here are my 5
  • I like to cozy down with the family and watch a movie with popcorn!!
  • I like to wake up without extra small bodies in my bed
  • I like my morning vanilla latte
  • I like my crafting space and what happens there
  • I like reading a good book
And here are my 5 picks for this sweet award. These bloggers inspire me for a variety of reasons and as you know we could all pick more than 5 but it will all spread accordingly.

Now for my card. I did a little bit of crafty relaxing by forcing my friend Becky to go with me to Michaels. It is just so relaxing to go and browse the aisles. I got a couple of things that I'm pretty jazzed about. One is a new corner punch from Fiskars called Heritage. Thanks Dawn who hooked me up with that one :) and then I saw this little guy and I couldn't resist. For pete's sake he was only $1.00.

I used Copics to color in this cute little mummy and then masked him and sponged the background. I used Spellbinders Label 4 Nestability to cut both mats as well as the circles to cut my mummy.

I paired this cute My Mind's Eye fall paper with some Close to my Heart cardstock.

Oh, and of course the flowers are also a Spellbinders die called Flower Creations.

Ok... have a busy week this week. My lovely MIL is coming to town today and we have plans to take the kids to the fair... I must admit, this is not my favorite event but we grudgingly go with a smile upon our faces!

Have a great day!

Stamp Something Challenge - Summer Somethings

Hi everyone! Its been sporadic for me and my only excuse is that you should head on over to the Clear Dollar Stamps blog and check things out. Big Stuff going on tomorrow so make sure to tune in there and here tomorrow.

But today, I have a really fun card to share with you for Stamp Something Challenge Blog. You've got all week to play and all you have to do is come up with something summery... no problems huh? Erin and Denise have some great stamps from the reserve as a prize.

I used some bright and bold colors so I tried to keep the layout pretty simple. I do have to be honest and say that I actually made a different card because I went brain dead for a moment and I'll share that one later on.

I took a sun image, stamped it on white cardstock and then stamped it again, colored it and cut it out and used pop dots to attach it to the image on my cardstock. I then used a stamp to create the stem and added my sentiment.

The sentiment is actually part of a larger sentence, but I just cut the "have fun" part right off and stamped it.

Like I said, you've got all week to play so I hope you join us. Make sure to head on over and check out the team's projects.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

Life is Good...

Hey all, I literally had to make something... I mean, I felt the need to create! I wanted simple and I think that's what I got, but it still took me longer than I wanted... doesn't' it always?

Anyway, not much too tell. I made everything with Close to my Heart products except for the button. That is a PTI button, oh and the burlap string is May Arts.

Stamp set is called Tree Tops. I really like this set but don't actually own it. Can you believe I'm borrowing it from a friend. The paper is from Emporium (level 2) and the cardstock is actually Indian Corn Blue. The ink is Sweet Leaf, Chocolate, and Indian Corn Blue.

That's it for my creativity and its now time for bed... finally.

But one last quick note. Make sure to go over to Clearly iStamp for a chance at some Blog Candy. Lori has big things in store for you this Saturday... seriously, put that date on the calendar and stick around... lots and lots of fun is to be had by all.

Oh and one more bit of randomness... if you are interested in seeing my boys at the dentist, then head on over to my family blog. Link is on the side bar :)

Would you like a good laugh???

Hi Everyone! I don't have a card to share with you today, but I do have some photos. Today is my 20th High School Reunion.... ack... am I really that old? Anyway, I took these photos (I have them floating around somewhere) from some of my old high school facebook friends.

I'll start off at the beginning. This is 1st Grade and I'm the one in the front row with the apple on my shirt.

This next one is from the 3rd grade. I'm in the middle row on the left hand side with the uber long braids. Not so cute in this picture. I can't even believe how long my hair was. Imagine it without the braids - crazy huh?

This next picture is from the Christmas Ball (I think my senior year)

This one was pretty close after high school. That's when high waisted was in!!!

And last but not least... one last one a year or two after high school.

So, I hope you had a good laugh... enjoy your day and maybe I'll have some pics from the reunion to share. Who knows... maybe I'll want to forget. This is my first reunion event so...
