No eye candy - just personal vent here

I'm just throwing this out there. Why is it that it just seems the norm that many companies whether they be brick and mortar or internet just have plain bad service? Attitudes that just ooze incompetence and/or an "I don't care", "too bad", "go away, you don't matter" vibe.

No details here, but the latest company I'm referring to is called Opticsplanet.com

Just within the last couple of weeks we've had bad service from:

a restaurant we ate at
the phone companies we deal with
our local fix it yourself box stores
the local craft stores
stupid ebay, oh did I say stupid ebay

I don't get websites that say they have items in stock and they don't and they can't tell you why and they don't care that you are inconvenienced in any way.

I don't get companies that can't at least pretend to be sympathetic to your plight whatever it may be.

I don't get companies that say they price match, but the list of companies that are "unauthorized" is much longer than the list that is.

I don't get companies that have different policies based on location, employees, or maybe its just based on which way the wind is blowing... I don't know.

I don't get companies that can't train their employees to answer simple questions.

I don't get companies that can't train their employees to actually greet their customers

And just to turn this around and say that yes there are many companies that do have good CS, but they are really far and few between.

Oh, I hear you girlfriend, I don't get webstores that don't tell you they are holding back your order untill an item comes into stock, 3 weeks, 3 weeks before they shipped and that was after I had to ask where my order was grrrrrr.

I hear ya, we are surrounded by morons, not sure why!

Oh, I so hear you! Isn't it sad that when you do receive good customer service you are just thrilled by it! It's such a rarety. I will admit that I do have a high standard where customer service is concerned but I don't think common courtesy and decency is too much to ask. There are a few places off my shop list as a result of rudeness or worse yet stupidity.

Sorry :-( The ones with good service are few and far between and the best thing to do is to give those companies your business.

Have you been shopping in my town? It does seem to be getting worse all around... there are but a few places we enjoy going anymore.
