Papertrey ink Blog Hop and Limelight Papercrafts Sketch Challenge

ETA... I realized after looking at other posts that I was dreaming this challenge. Its not distress... its text... so.... I either read this on a different blog hop, can't read, or can read and need help with comprehension, or a other multitude of other issues that I won't get into and of course I figured it after the fact...duh!!! Does the sentiment count as text??

So, my apologies for making up my own challenge (hehe)

Wow... its been a while since I was able to play along with the Papertrey ink Blog Hop, but things aligned and I already had all the materials on hand, so I'm excited that I have something to share this time around.

I also got double duty from this one and I loosely followed a really cute sketch that Mandy has up for the Limelight Sketch and Product Challenge. The focus there was sentiments and I love this sentiment from my newest stamp set from Papertrey.

I used is my very newest set called In Bloom and since I hadn't been able to get the set called Friends til the End, I jumped on the chance to pick this $15 set.

The challenge for the Blog Hop was all about distress. I started with some Dark Chocolate Cardstock and then layered some Melon Berry, which I stamped with one of the flowers, and then flanked that with some patterned paper from Green Tea Leaves. I think that patterned paper is my all time favorite.

I then did some stitching, and used duo distress inks and then scissors to rough up all my edges. The inks are wonderful to work with and I highly recommend them.

Finally, I layered my sentiment, added some PTI chocolate buttons and matching ribbon. I love how this card turned out and I hope you do to.

Thanks for visiting and have a great night.

Well, nonetheless, I am enjoying your card! You should see me...I write emails in my head, from start to finish with each carefully selected adjective and then wonder why the person it was "sent" to (only in my head) didn't respond! So, a distressed card with a fantastic sentiment with a mix of great fonts seems like a mighty innocent mistake that we still get to benefit from in the form of inspiration! :>:> Fantastic card! :>

LOL - I love the edit at the beginning of your post. I think that it all counts! I think it is enough of a challenge to think, design, make and post a project by a specific date. Your card came out wonderfully. Love all the details and how you brought them all together. Great job!

haha. I always consider my big public mistakes as 1) God's way of keeping me humble and 2) just a little way of helping other people feel better about themselves and their own mistakes. Heaven knows, I make plenty of them! Great card. And I think I'm convinced that I need that stamp set!
