Papertrey ink Blog Hop and Limelight Papercrafts Sketch Challenge
ETA... I realized after looking at other posts that I was dreaming this challenge. Its not distress... its text... so.... I either read this on a different blog hop, can't read, or can read and need help with comprehension, or a other multitude of other issues that I won't get into and of course I figured it after the fact...duh!!! Does the sentiment count as text??
So, my apologies for making up my own challenge (hehe)
Wow... its been a while since I was able to play along with the Papertrey ink Blog Hop, but things aligned and I already had all the materials on hand, so I'm excited that I have something to share this time around.
I also got double duty from this one and I loosely followed a really cute sketch that Mandy has up for the Limelight Sketch and Product Challenge. The focus there was sentiments and I love this sentiment from my newest stamp set from Papertrey.
I used is my very newest set called In Bloom and since I hadn't been able to get the set called Friends til the End, I jumped on the chance to pick this $15 set.
The challenge for the Blog Hop was all about distress. I started with some Dark Chocolate Cardstock and then layered some Melon Berry, which I stamped with one of the flowers, and then flanked that with some patterned paper from Green Tea Leaves. I think that patterned paper is my all time favorite.
I then did some stitching, and used duo distress inks and then scissors to rough up all my edges. The inks are wonderful to work with and I highly recommend them.
Finally, I layered my sentiment, added some PTI chocolate buttons and matching ribbon. I love how this card turned out and I hope you do to.
Thanks for visiting and have a great night.

This card is so nice. Looks like you spent a lot of time creating it. I love the leaf paper too -- it goes with just about everything.
Lovley card, those colors are so pretty together...love the layout too
Gorgeous! Love the sewing and the distressed edges! Simply beautiful!
Mmmm Katie - this is gorgeous - and yes, your sentiment can count! :-) Love the vintage feel and overall layout.
Beautiful card Katie! I'm glad you could join in this month.
Gorgeous card!! tfs!!
It's a pretty card...vintage or text!
Very pretty Katie! Your sentiment can be your text... heehee. My brain does stuff like that all the time.
heheheh, doesn't really matter Katie because the card is awesome regardless!! :-)
Your card is beautiful!!! (Your edit note at the beginnning of your post had me crackin'up- so funny!)
It's beautiful. Love all the distressing too.
No mather what the theme is: Your card looks fantastic!! :-)
So so pretty! Love the vintage/distressed feel to this card. Awesome!!
Ok... pretending that this is a distress challenge... you ROCKED it! Great card. ;-)
I would think it counts...heck who cares..its gorgeous!
Ha, ha, that's OK...It took me some time to figure out the challenge, too. Beautiful card.
Holy smokes that is beautiful! I love the layout and the way you did your ribbon/button embellishment!
Pretty job distressing. I like the colors and the sewn edges.
LOL! Yes, it counts - you played and that is really what matters. We still get lots of inspiration from your beautiful card :)
So gorgeous!
Hey, I kept trying to get my link posted & after a LONG time, realized I was forgetting to refresh!!! LOL! Isn't life great sometimes?!!! Good thing we're all human, huh?!!!
Your card is simply gorgeous!!! Love it!!!
Beautiful card!!
Well, nonetheless, I am enjoying your card! You should see me...I write emails in my head, from start to finish with each carefully selected adjective and then wonder why the person it was "sent" to (only in my head) didn't respond! So, a distressed card with a fantastic sentiment with a mix of great fonts seems like a mighty innocent mistake that we still get to benefit from in the form of inspiration! :>:> Fantastic card! :>
Lovely. The distressed look is great!
This is absolutely stunning!! So glad you shared it!
Your card is BEAUTIFUL!!!! :)
Love the vintage look. Distress, text doesn't matter. It's all about the inspiration. : )
love it Katie absolutely fabulous I love the distressed look
LOL - I love the edit at the beginning of your post. I think that it all counts! I think it is enough of a challenge to think, design, make and post a project by a specific date. Your card came out wonderfully. Love all the details and how you brought them all together. Great job!
hehe, its a gerat card anyways!
haha. I always consider my big public mistakes as 1) God's way of keeping me humble and 2) just a little way of helping other people feel better about themselves and their own mistakes. Heaven knows, I make plenty of them! Great card. And I think I'm convinced that I need that stamp set!
It's a stunner either way LOL! Love your buttons and stiching. Super fun and fresh use of text.
It's a good life!

Dear Katie, I occasionally landed on your blog and like what I see here. You do wonderful artwork! And so I will make a visit again on your place from time to time to see what's new.
Love from Switzerland,

Oh, Katie, this is just gorgeous!!
Text or not, Katie, this is truly beautiful! I didn't have time to make the Blog Hop at all, so don't feel bad!
I think this looks fabulous- text or no text! :)
Oh Katie, that is too funny! I am the one who always reads the rules after I post the card!!
