Happy Birthday Gift Box and Card

Good morning! Today is Friday which means that WCMD is only a day away. Don't miss all the excitement to be had with Limelight Papercrafts.

Today, I am sharing something that I made for a good friend of mine for her birthday before I left for San Diego. I made the gift box using my Cricut Expression. It can get no easier that punching a button and having the pieces cut for me. I am then left with the fun stuff of folding and decorating. To make a big box like this though it is necessary to own the Expression. I used the 12x12 mat and the Tags, Bags, Boxes and More Cartridge.

And of course, I had to make a matching card and since we both love Stamping Bellas, I decided to use Cakeabella for my card. Becky, my friend is a huge fan of the 4th of July so I decided to use this bright and festive Close to my Heart paper. Its very patriotic looking, but still fun without being too "holidayish".

Inside the box, I put in some stamping stuff of course. You gotta give the stamp lover more stamps don't ya? Here's a close - up of my card. I colored my
Bella in with Copics and then accented the cake with
some gold stickles. The little chipboard flowers were a freebie from Eclectic Paperie last year as well as the Prima flower on the box. Its so cool to get extras when you order.

Here is a picture of the box open. I don't have the exact dimensions to share, but a standard DVD fits into the box and you could easily put 2 in it.

Thanks for stopping by and visiting as always. I can't wait for tomorrow and I hope you all come and play with me and the other DT Members for Limelight.
