Papertrey ink Blog Hop - Vellum

Check out all the details --->HERE<--- and it explains what the Blog Hop is all about. Its a great way to re-energize and guide you to try and think about specific trends or materials. I have enjoyed every single one of these events. For this month, the focus was on Vellum. Nichole just released 2 new lines of vellum, BUT mine won't be here until Monday so.... make note.... the vellum I used is from my local scrapbooking store. I purchased 2 types - a really thick one and one that was called heavier, but was still flimsier than regular cardstock. I really like the thick one because it WAS thick, but it was also 99 cents a sheet and in my opinion not at all affordable for any multiple project like I used it for. Anyway, without further ado, here are my projects. I have to apologize to those of you who have visited in the last few days because I've already done this little favor box, but I have to be honest and say that I LOVE making them. I also did my very 1st tutorial using this box. Just scroll down a bit or click on the link if you are interested. So to make up for this, I did make a matching card to go with my little box.

For the favor box, I stamped my vellum with Close to my Heart's White Daisy Pigment ink (it is a bit time consuming because you do have to let the ink dry. I feel that even with heat setting, it works best to just let it dry. I used the stamp set Garden of Life (I love the look of this outline flower all by itself) then I ran the entire piece through my cuttlebug using the Dotted Swiss embossing folder. For the flap I used my new Fiskars Threading Water punch (love it), added a simple bow and of course used PTI's Aqua Mist cardstock to make the box inside. I think the combination of the Aqua Mist, White, and Vellum are just beautiful.

For my card, I started with a white card base, added an Aqua Mist piece of cardstock that I ran through my cuttlebug with the embossing folder, then added my vellum to the top of that. Again, I used the same stamp from the box, but this time added dots from my Signo Uniball White Gel pen. I LOVE this pen!!

****** Side Note: I just saw gold and silver Signo Uniball pens at my local stamp store and they
write awesome!

Then, I stamped one more flower image onto vellum, cut it out, and attached it with my ribbon. I layered my vellum layer on top of everything else and added my sentiment. I thought this sentiment works great for a wedding card.

Also, I didn't use any adhesive to attach my vellum, but rather used one of those photo corner punches (EK Success - pink) and then it was just a tucking in process.

Thanks for stopping by and hop on....

Ink: White Daisy (CTMH), Palette Noir Black
Stamps: Garden of Life
