Hoppy Hello in my not so clean creative area

Good morning all! First I have to share what a horrible mess I have going on in my scrap area. Geez, I've got too many things going on. I was working on the blog hop stuff, trying to stamp some images for a couple of challenges, working on a project that I've been wanting to share, and cutting out stuff for my club which is today. I look at it and just shake my head.

Wow, the Blog Hop was another resounding success. The numbers are growing every month - Great job Nichole! Its inspiring to see everyone's creations each month.

So, now to my card. My vellum adventure continues into today because I wasn't able to complete one of the projects that I had been working on in time, but I did finish it last night. I made a pocket card after seeing Melanie's card --->HERE<---. I immediately thought it would look really cool using vellum. I didn't have a template so my measurements are wonky. I've been trying to remember to make my cards a bit smaller because I end up with too many layers and I want them to fit in the standard envelopes, but of course I usually forget. Anyway, for this card I ended up using Papertrey ink's Pond
Life. I used Moss Green Cardstock as my base and cut a piece of vellum to the size of the front of the card. Then I ran both layers through my cuttlebug using my oval nestabilities to cut a window. I set my vellum aside and stamped my images onto my cardstock then put my vellum back on. I did end up using a bit of clear adhesive on 2 of the corners and it worked out alright. IRL, you really don't see it unless you really study it. For the other two corners I used my brads to keep my pieces together.

Then I used the next size oval nestability die to cut a piece of white cardstock. I stamped my images straight onto this and placed it on my insert (moss green) so it would be where my window was. The I cut another piece of vellum and attached it to my insert. I love the way the vellum looks over the white cardstock and it is still a contrast even though the outside is covered with vellum as well.

Finally, I stamped my sentiment on the back side of my pocket so you would see it when the insert is removed, used a punch to make my hole for the ribbon, and added some dots for accents to my insert.

I really like the way the card turned out. Still masculine yet soft at the same time.
Cardstock: Moss Green, White (PTI), Vellum Ink: Chocolate, Olive, Lilac Mist (CTMH) Stamps: Pond Life (PTI) Other: Signo Uniball White Gel Pen, Nestabilities, SU! Slot Punch, CTMH Brads, PTI Ribbon, Circle Punch
