It's Teacher Appreciation and a Sketch

I have lots to share with you today so bear with me - don't worry, just crafty stuff :) It is teacher appreciation week at my son's school this week. I can't tell you enough about how we all LOVE the little school in our neighborhood. The elementary school that my oldest (2nd grade) attends is literally that - a neighborhood school. There are no buses that drop kids off. 95% of the school's children are walked or driven to school. There is 1 kindergarten class am/pm, 2 - 1st grade classes, 2 - 2nd grade classes and so on and so forth. We feel very lucky to live in this great little neighborhood of ours.

Anyway, I of course love making little goodies here and there and of course teacher appreciation week is a great reason to do so. I HAD (of course) to use Teachabella from Stamping Bella. She's not mine, but my bestest friend gave me the ok to ink her up before I sent it on to her, who by the way is a teacher herself. So, because there is also a student teacher, (reminder - don't forget those student teachers - I was once one too) I ended up doing a card for her, the main teacher, and of course one for my friend.

I don't want to make this post super long so I won't go into a ton of detail, but I just wanted to share with you the things I had made. I made two fabric purses for Hunter's teachers. The bigger one is Nichole Heady's and you can find her tutorial -->HERE<--. Its super easy and hugely fun to make. The other bag, I changed up the dimensions a bit, just so it wasn't identical. The larger one uses all PTI goods and the black and cream one uses CTMH stamps. I also added some stickles in the center of the flowers for a bit of bling.
Then, I made some goodies to go inside. Nugget boxes, a paper clippy aka bookmark, and I also used the nugget tin to house some pretty soap. I did wrap the soap in cardstock and used my long rectangle nestabilities to cut out the center so you could see the design.

Here are the close ups of the cards: This is one that I cased from Sharon Harnist. As soon as I saw it, I thought it was such a cool idea. I love the look of this 3-d card - its so different. All the fun stuff is one the card front, so I'll have Hunter write a not inside.
Now this card is actually the SKETCH card from Lauren Meader's blog. I thought it turned out great and I love the color combo. This card is a mixture of PTI and CTMH cardstock. The background stamp is PTI. The card above and this card were colored in with copics. You can't tell really, but I used Liquid Glass to make the apple shine and of course had to add some stickles.
I hope the teachers enjoy them. And of course here is the card that I will send to my friend in CA. She is a fab Mom and 2nd grade teacher herself! This paper is again Collage Press. She really likes the pink/orange combo as well. I colored her in using Prisma Watercolor Pencils (cuz that's what my friend has and she wanted to see a sample)So thanks for hanging in there with me. Have a great day and if its Teacher Appreciation week everywhere then "Yeah for the Teachers!!!"

What nice gifts! Im sure they will fall over when they get those! I love the black and white bag. That ribbon is really cute. We have Teacher Appreciation week at my kids school. Everyday we send in a little something. I posted on my blog what they helped me make last night.
