Vacation and Easter

Hi All,

Well today is Easter and the last day of my extended vacation.  I left work early on March 21st for a trip to San Francisco to see my long time friend Craig.  It had been almost 20 years since we had seen each other and just as it should be with great friends it didn't seem as any time had passed as we were able to pick up where we left off and continue the conversation.  You may think me crazy but I Dennis and I rode our motorcycles down.  All in all it was great fun but had some real wet times as well.  Nothing like pouring water out of your boots at the end of the day.

Following the trip to California I took the week off to spend Spring Break with the boys.  Katie's dad was here for a visit and it was great to see him.  The boys always like seeing Grandad and they showed their love by giving Bill their cold.  A gift that just keeps giving.

Easter has been a hit with the boys, I actually took the time to go to the store and get eggs and candy to hide so they could have an Easter egg hunt around the yard.  This isn't something that comes natural to me as Katie was always the one who did the holiday prep and I just took the photos.  Katie's mom also came up with baskets for all three boys, it was great to see her and all three boys were very happy she came.  The twins scored some paddle balls as well and they couldn't be happier.

Here is my video from the trip with Dennis, it's 17 minutes long and contains some sophomorish humor.  Sorry Dennis and I are not super mature...

Great video Kevin!! Although it did take me a while to get used to being on the "wrong" side of the road, lol. Wasn't overly keen to see see the big truck coming around the corner either. The scenery was absolutely beautiful.

Glad you had a great time and that you all enjoyed Easter.

Thanks for sharing.

Wonderful to see your trip in 17 minutes. I'll be sending each of you a driving manual and please make note of the following, passing on double yellow and red sign with STOP.
Love, mom

Ha! Well I made it to 3:50 minutes in the video. Not that I didn't like it but I was getting a little motion sick!!! Like the musical score-really cool! Thanks for sharing Kevin. I know my dh would LOVE taking a trip like that...if only he had a bike:) Thanks for catching us up on your and your boys lives.

I'm sure Katie would be so proud at how wonderfully you've handled the 'holiday prep':) So glad to hear that you had a motorcycle trip to hang with some friends! I've been thinking of you all with Katie's birthday around the bend.

Well - I love that you updated us and that you are enjoying yourself. I'm not sure I know a man who doesn't revert to sophomoric humor with his buds (shockingly).

Glad your Easter was good.
Hugs & Love from Texas.

p.s. Listen to your mama - drive safer.

kevin, great to see you honoring Katie by living your life and being a great Dad to your boys and it is a pleasure to be able to read about how you and the boys are doing. It is difficult to not feel pity and some kind of weirdness when you talk to, or post a comment on your site. but hopefully, now that you have asked people to treat you as they would hope to be treated it will get better.
I look forward to seeing how you are doing and wish the best for you and your boys. Abby from Campbell River
