An update, a card, and Blog Candy

Dear friends,

Things are going pretty good and I'm again very happy to be able to skip a chemo treatment, but of course something has to occur right?  Nothing overwhelming, but this afternoon I noticed quite a bit of swelling in my ankles and hands.  My hands have been relatively stiff the last few days, but I attributed that to the extra stamping that I have done the past several days, but now who knows.  The swelling reminds me of when I was pregnant... you know where you could touch your ankles and it would leave an indentation.  I just hope it goes away soon.  I haven't ever noticed swelling like this before.  My Doctor said that one of the chemo drugs (Taxotere) is known for this type of side effect, but like I said, I haven't noticed it up until now.  Just add it to my list I guess.

*************

As I mentioned above, I've been crafting it up the last several days.  Most I can't show yet, but I did create a card for a challenge blog.  Today's card uses a couple of new release stamps from Clear Dollar Stamps.  I decided to follow a sketch and well, you know how it is... a link from a link to another link etc. landed me at Sweet Sketch Wednesday.  This is my first time playing along with this Sketch Blog and we all know that a) it's fun to play and b) sketches are a wonderful way to wet those creative juices.

Card Recipe:
Stamps: Clear Dollar Stamps (Lovely Women, Tulip Wreath)
Cardstock/Papers: Close to my Heart
Ink: Memento (tuxedo black)
Copic Markers: BG18, BG72, YR20, YR21
Accents/Tools: Offray Crochet, Clear Dollar Stamps (worn parchment), CTMH adhesive pearls, Spellbinders(circles and oval nestabilities, lacey ovals)

***********************

Plus, here is some blog candy up for grabs.  I love ribbon, who doesn't right?  One of my favorite ribbon companies is May Arts, so here is what is up for grabs:

I've got 4 groups of ribbon so I will randomly draw 4 people.  Whoever contacts me first can choose from the 2 different groupings.

Group 1 (x2)  Assortment of 1 yard each silk ribbon

Group 2 (x2)  Assortment of  1 yard each variety ribbon

Rules are loose here... just leave me a comment and that is it!  I'll ship anywhere so make sure you put your hat in.  Now, I don't know when I'll do my random draw, but I will draw sooner than later!

Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful day!

Until next time...

-Katie

Which is worse? Piles of ribbon or a jar of peanut butter? I love both but I have too much of each. So here is the deal....if you select me, I get to choose the winner. I will pick my fav number...it's never changed since I was a bitty kid in 1961. That number will be the comment winner. If I bring any more ribbon, stamps or paper into this house, I have to move out. So that's that.

I am glad you are feeling better other than the swelling. I LOVE ribbon, so feel free to pick ME!!

Love your card and glad to hear you are feeling a bit happier even though you have another symptom to add to the list. Perhaps you can get a gentle massage of your legs and feet to ease the fluid retention.
I would love to have some nice ribbons so please put me in the draw. Thank you

Glad your feeling well :D How have you been sitting while your crafting. I'm shocking! I tend to sit with my legs tucked under the chair with my ankles crossed, which can cause puffiness in them? Especially if sitting for long periods. Maybe that's what is causing your sudden puffiness?
Gorgeous fresh colours on your card, and the ribbons are beautiful :D XXX

I have been following your blog for some time now and am uplifted by your honest and courageous posts. I have never had chemo, but cared for my Mom as she underwent treatments. Sometimes it is not pretty. Unlike your cards, which are always gorgeous.
Thanks for offering blog candy.

Hi Katie.. Hope this makes you smile.. ya know I love you, right? Well, Curt said to keep your feet up.. and I thought.. yeah, but its your hands too, then, just for a second, just one second, I had this picture of you trying to elevate hands and feet and still making your so darn amazing cards, and, well, ...
Did I just disqualify myself from your blog candy drawing????
(Seriously I hope this who would expect a new symptom when you are having your free month... guess I kind of thought it would be new side effect free too... well, I am praying it clears up quick, and that it does not interfere with your life too much!)

Katie, how awesome that you are creating once again! I have not checked in for a while due to company and the Easter holidays but wow! You have been busy!! I love what you've made (sorry to hear you are losing your eyebrows, eyelashes & the other areas you mentioned) but what joy that you get to skip a treatment here and there. I hope you do get to walk around Disneyland as much as you can (I would not want to be wheeled around either) Hugs and prayers,
