I've got some blog candy... click HERE if you'd like to throw your hat in the mix.

Dear friends,

Just wanted to let you know that the swelling for the most part has gone away.  I honestly believe that the swelling was the result of crafting the days prior to the swelling.  I craft standing and I actually been doing quite a bit for several days in a row.  Normally, I would have been having a chemo treatment and laying in bed afterwards.  We'll see how it goes at Disney, but I still have nearly a week before we are actually at Disneyland. I have to be honest and say that I don't want to be wheeled around in a wheel chair.  You won't believe how many of my friends have suggested this... and I know you are reading this too and shaking your head at me.

So, I got some new stamping goodies and quickly made a card before Kevin and I went down to Seattle for the night.  We had a nice quiet evening away from the chatter of the little ones.

This card uses some of my favorite patterned paper from Cosmo Cricket (pixie-liscious).  It is just so appealing to me.

Stamps: Papertrey ink
Cardstock/Papers: Papertrey ink, Cosmo Cricket
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, CTMH, Copic Markers
Accessories/Tools: Dies, felt (PTI)

Thanks for coming to visit and have a great day!

Until next time...

-Katie

Cute card!!

I hope you feel fabulous for your trip... but in case you are not 100%, what about one of the power scooters? I am guessing they have rentals. My friend is 36 weeks pregnant with #3, and used one at King's Dominion amusement park this weekend. She said she felt a bit odd, but she was able to drive where she wanted, and she had energy to enjoy the day. Just a thought:)

That's a darling card! I'm happy the swelling is down. I can see why you wouldn't want to use a wheel chair.. but if it's any consoliation... if you do use a wheelchair.. you get in front of the line on all the RIDES! Yup! We went to Disney once and the night before G-ma fractured her ankle while walking around downtown Disney and little did we know that we were able to ride all the rides we wanted. FUN! lol! just a fun way of looking at it.

Hey Minnie Mouse. I hope you have the best time at Disneyland! Take care! Darling card, and I can see why you love this DP!

Beautiful card. And I agree with Nati! If you use a wheelchair you will be able to see so much more. At least take advantage of FastPass! And if you can, do a character dining event as your little ones will love it! I went to Disney World in FL so cannot advise you very well on CA.

Katie, beautiful card. TFS. Glad you are feeling better. You are awesome, and SUCH an inspiration when I am reading your blog. God Bless, and I hope you & your family enjoy a wonderful trip at Disney.

A wheelchair at Disneyland can have its advantages. It has been a few years since we were there, but at that time they had separate handicap access that allowed the wheelchair occupant and entire party a short-cut to the front of the line. Way cool!

Ohh such a fun card! You will have so much fun in Disneyland!!
Don't worry if you need to use a wheelchair. My husband struggles with neurological problem that came out of the blue about 6 or 7 years ago. Initally I had to push him around in wheelchair - and then we got a scooter. Meantime, he is more able to walk. Hey! When I broke my foot and wrist 2 years ago... I wish I'd had a wheelchair then! :)

hugs! Deborah

I am so happy that you are feeling better and now the swelling has gone down so even better news. I also stamp standing up. You will have so much fun at Disney but, Sweetie, I would take a wheelchair along just in case. Then you will have the option of either using it or not using it. And one of the kids can sit in it in the meantime!

I really like your card. That paper is so pretty!

And you should take the wheelchair! My bf had to get stitches in his thigh right before we went to Disney World years ago & he said I should push him in a wheelchair. I was furious because of how he ended up with the stitches, so of course I refused. And then later I found out that you get to jump to the head of the line with the wheelchair. So you should do it :)

Great card, lovely colours. I'm glad the swelling went down, and I hope you enjoy Disney, might not be a bad idea to use the wheelchair, first in line on the rides..... lol, think about it....

Katie,
My husband has cancer, and when we were in Disney in FL he takes a wheelchair rental. You get in front of the line and so does your family, and then it will save you some energy to deal with the rest of the trip. If you have swelling that will cause pain and the pain will just exhaust you so that it won't be fun. So have FUN!!! It also allows your family to feel like they are doing something to help you which gives them some feeling of control when really don't have any either. Best wishes.

Katie--
I'm reiterating what others have said. The only time I've been to Disneyland was when I was 17 and graduating from high school. My mom was recovering from ACL surgery, and she had a wheelchair. We never waited for anything. DId it feel like cheating? Yes. DId she use the wheelchair very often? No. (My brother and I did. We thought it was hilarious to dump each other out of it in front of strangers. Not so hilarious, really.) Was it completely awesome? Yes. Did it keep her from getting too tired? Yes.
I hope you have THE GREATEST TRIP. It was so fun to spend time with two of your boys at Mountain School. What a great family. Have fun!

Katie - I went to Disney World quite a few years ago after being in quite a severe car accident. I was walking again by the trip, but got fatigued quickly. I took my wheelchair and simply walked behind it most of the time. It was a relief to have it with me so felt that I wasn't slowing the family down too much, and the comfort of knowing it was there when/if I needed it. Whatever you decide, have a great time!

Glad to hear that the swelling is gone, and I'll bet you are right, it was probably from the standing. I have a crafting friend who also stands to create. I don't know how you two do it. My big butt has to be sitting! LOL Super cute card. LOVE that frog! Hope you got me email of thanks! Best, Curt
