Hey, just a quickie note...I have been doing my utmost best to keep all my cards with envelopes and I hope that I haven't missed anyone with my shout outs.  Its important to me to keep the best record I can and if I do miss anyone, I'd be disappointed and I want to apologize in advance.

And finally, one last thing.  I have gotten requests for an address and many of you already have my home address, but for those of you who don't here is a PO Box that Kevin and I decided to get.

PO Box 5913
Bellingham, WA 98227-5913

Sometimes I almost forget that I have joined a private club, a club that I didn't want an invitation to, a club that I never thought I would join.  Its funny, because there are lots of clubs out there that you don't realize are there until you join them either by choice or happen stance.  I am actually a member of many clubs when I think about it, but it was actually just last year that I really thought about it.  That particular club wasn't directly mine, but I joined indirectly through my oldest child.

He has allergies and they are severe enough that we finally decided that it was time for allergy shots.  He has been going weekly for nearly a year now.  He receives two shots, one in each arm and he has been a trooper.  But as the weeks passed and we met other members of this new club of ours I realized that everyone that we met here shared a commonality that you just can't understand until you've joined that specific club.

My new club is still foreign to me and all the nuances have not yet been felt.  Today, I nearly forgot that I was a member.  I feel good and for the most part I can eat as I had in the past.  I also had friends come visit with me today and it all felt oh so normal, in fact better than normal, and for a moment, I forgot...

Then the tell tale signs reared its head, things like my daily miralax beverage and yes... a few strands of hair that I noticed in my hands.  I wasn't tugging but rather running my fingers through my hair and at this point it is just a few strands, but yesterday there weren't any strands, and it makes me wonder what tomorrow will bring.

But in the end, what I do know for sure is that I scheduled dental cleanings for all three boys at 9:30 am and ironically, I don't even know that for sure because its snowing right now.  Who knows... maybe the dental hygienists won't be able to make it to work after all.

Check out all the love I've been receiving...

And my visit with Lisa Johnson... thank you Lisa for making my day "normal". And get this... this photo was taken by one of my little ones... sorry, can't remember which one.  Ok, I did some cropping since I didn't want my belly to be the focus, but what a great job!

Until next time....

Katie

Dear Katie, I've just joined your support team! I read about you and your journey through Penny Duncan's blog. I got chills reading it because it was almost exactly what my brother went through many, many years ago! I am so happy that things have gotten better in the treatment of cancer. I have a strong faith and will also pray for you on a daily basis! I will also pray for Kevin and your adorable boys. Keep positive thoughts whenever you can and so many people will help through prayer. I never met you and I don't "really" know you and yet I feel love for you! I wish you the absolute best each day. Keep sharing!! Your new friend, Nancy

I'm so happy you had a good day Katie. Don't worry about what tomorrow will bring - just enjoy the fact that today was a good one. Wow, what an outpouring of love and support you're getting! I'm so happy!

You've received a lot of love because you deserve it. There are so many people rooting for you, if beating this thing relied on people power you would have it beat hands down.

Glad you could have a 'normal' day and what a lovely picture of you. Sometimes children surprise you by taking such lovely photos. I think sometimes you don't think it will come out very well so you let your guard down and really smile like you mean it an they look so much more natural.

Thank you for your encouraging words on Facebook yesterday. I have a much more positive frame of mind as a result and we can keep fighting together okay :)

Lots of love smiley girl xxx

Katie, you deserve all those cards and all the love they convey. Stay strong because you have SO MANY people praying and cheering for you. That's another club of which you're a member. :)

Lisa's a sweetheart! I'm glad she "normalized" your day. :)

I'm happy for you that you had an enjoyable day, one day at the time. The picture is beautiful, he sure takes a great shot.
You deserve all the cards, cos you're a great girl.I don't know you personally but over the last couple of years that I looked at your blog and drew inspiration from your work, I feel as if I know you. Sometimes you put up little anecdotes about your family and kept me amused on a dull day. so I'm hoping now to give something back by keeping you in my thoughts and praying.

Yea for normal!! Funny how I was feeling sort of the same & feeling terribly guilty over that...that things were kinda normal - know what I mean? Man, what a pile of LOVE you got going there. And I have to say you looked fantastic in the snap...good job kiddo!

I am really glad you had a somewhat normal day. I totally know what you mean about the 'club'... I've been in your kids' shoes, though as an adult. That's a different club to itself!

Thank you so much for the PO box - it's not much, but it's SOMETHING I can do for you!

I will pray for you, Katie! This scripture has helped me through some rough times: James 4:8 - Draw near to the Lord, and He will draw near to you. God bless you!

I'm glad you had a normal day. After these 20 years as a cancer survivor there is still nothing I like or treasure more than an ordinary normal day. Here's wishing you many many more ordinary normal days.

Here's wishing you a million more happy days --- actually, several million. You're brave. I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers. Keep making cards and keep on trucking. BTW, it's cold in California and we just had 2 earthquakes not 10 minutes ago. Uggghhh.

Katie, awesome picture! Glad to hear you had a good day. I like the idea of clubs and some that we don't want to be part of but have no choice. Thanks for that thought. It helps me with acceptance of my "clubs".

Hi Katie,
I came across your blog on SCS and after reading much of what has happened to you recently, my heart goes out to you. You may not always feel like it, but you are fighting a strong battle and that is important in the outcome of any battle. As a nurse I have worked in many different areas and I can tell you I have seen so many patients who fight their disease and beat it! The statistics that we are asked to provide are really just numbers. As you are recognizing, they do not definitively give the answer. You are so much more than a statistic and so many things factor into how an illness is fought. There is the sometimes mysterious power
of the fighting patient and the support of our Lord that is so important. That said the power of medicine can't be under estimated either. It sounds like you have a very good
medical team helping you in your fight. The medicines etc. Can be overwhelming and confusing, but you are right to be as involved in your care as you can. Always feel free to ask us questions as that is your right You have already seen the importance of having someone such as your husband to be there with you to be an advocate, care giver and supporter of you. You are blessed to have such a family and husband.

Like many who have introduced themselves to you here, I don't know you personally, but I will be keeping in my thoughts and prayers.

Hugs,
Brenda

Hi, Katie! I am a friend of Curt's and was referred to your blog by him. He briefly explained what you're going through and I wanted to come meet you, and to let you know my thoughts and prayers are with you, your wonderful hubby, your beautiful children and your entire family!

I have read some of your posts and I am so proud of and admire your strength and fortitude!

God answers prayers everyday, and with so very many people praying and cheering for you, and loving you, is the first answer to a prayer and is a blessing!

I will be back again to visit with you soon!

Hugs!
