Dear friends,

Whoa Nelly, I have no idea what happened yesterday, but it was like I was back to the 2nd day after chemo.  The night before I started feeling "off", not exactly sure what was going on since the day before I had felt pretty good.  Then I noticed I started to get really emotional too, no "moments", just tearing up here and there.  I finally went to bed and then woke up feeling even worse.

For some reason, my nausea was worse than it had been and yup, out came the blue bag.  If you don't know what the blue bag is, let me describe.  While I was in the hospital, they had these blue flat disks all over.  We finally realized that these blue disks were barf bags.  All you had to do was shake it out and your had a cylindrical tube for your throwing up pleasure... measurements on the side to boot.  Anyway, we took a bunch home with us and out it came yesterday.

Then, it was just fatigue all day long... it was crazy.  I was peeved yesterday because this is supposed to be my week of feeling better and better and that darn cancer/chemo totally disrupted by plan!!!

Another thought is that one or all of my chemo drug's side effect is the long term disruption of a menstrual cycle.  Who know's how that will affect my body and then of course is the thought that it will then bring on early menopause... I'm ok with the no more periods though (silver lining).

But, so far so good this am... I'll take it!

Until next time...

-Katie

Well, that sucks, Katie. . .boooooo! I thought that was what those little blue bags were for. I saw them last week at the hospital, and wondered. I'm hoping today is much better for you.

Actually, if it messes with your menstrual cycle, I have to be concerned for the poor GUYS in your life! ;) Tell them to RUN, not walk to the nearest ice cream store to get you something you want! ;) Continuing my prayers...

Well isn't that just a pain... but on the upside that is another hurdle that you've jumped over, pleased you are feeling a bit better today. You see I knoew you'd find a silver lining in your post and lets face it as most us gals know it's a good one, Teds right though, tell Kevin to get out his hard hat.

Well, here's hoping you have a great weekend! You made me laugh with those blue barf bags, I don't know that we use them here. I remember from prior hospital stays, the blue kidney shaped bowl that isn't near big enough to hold everything we give up! So now that you are feeling a little better, be sure and go spoil youself!

Sorry for the setback sweetie. . .but get through it as best you can and let out what you must. It's all part of the process. You'll feel strong, weak, vulnerable, indignant, sad, happy, etc. . .it all part of the human condition. And you are going through it with a grace and dignity I've come to love and admire. Keep fighting the fight Katie, and never, ever give up. I'm here fighting with you! Best, Curt

I guess this chemo doesn't stick to a plan, huh? Ugh, I can't imagine how hard it must be to wait for a good day and not get it. But, I'm so glad today is better. Yeah for small victories

Better out than in, as long as ther nausea passes. I hope you'll feel better during the week-end, it must be very hard to lok forward to something and then not getting it.
Keep going Katie, we'll be there with you
