Halloween Fun

Hey everyone. I wanted to share a couple of pictures from Halloween. Every year I tell myself that I'm going to get started earlier and earlier... some years I'm successful, some years I'm not. I have making the kids Halloween costumes since they were babies and I feel that I must just because its tradition now.

I am no great seamstress, but I don't stress too much about Halloween because a) its dark out when they wear their costumes and b) its just a one time affair.

This year, Hunter was a pirate again (he was last year), but I made a different costume. He's getting to the point where its like sewing "adult" clothing which I don't like at all unless its pajamas or something low stress.

Nate and Will wanted to be Batman so I found the closest pattern I could find. That is one thing I'm not... innovator. I need a pattern just like I need a recipe if and when I cook.

I'm pleased to say that all the boys enjoyed dressing up and their costumes. And I'm pleased we had really nice weather. We never know what to expect, we've had below freezing temps, thunder and lightening, rain, rain, and more rain. But this year was quite nice.

Thanks for visiting and have a great day!

Wow, Katie, you are extremely impressive. I can sew, but only in straight lines, hehe. Your boys are so handsome in their costumes. I used to (before I started homeschooling) make the kids' birthday cakes every year. They would always be pretty intricate, but this year I succombed to the pressure of everything else and purchased them.

Wow -- all the costumes turned out great and so did your pictures. Especially like the picture of Hunter. Will and Nate crack me up -- one has a full smile and the other one has a little smiley smirk. Great job!

You did a great job on the costumes for your boys! My SIL makes some pretty cool ones for my niece and nephews. Sewing is one skill that I would love to learn one day.
