PCP Clear Dollar Color Challenge and Limelight Sketch Challenge

Happy Saturday! I have a card to share with you that I made for both the PCP (Papercraft Planet) color challenge and the sketch and product challenge over at Limelight Papercrafts.

Shawne is hosting this weekend and she picked some great colors even if they are out of her comfort zone. They really came together well - thanks Shawne!

The sketch is a good one and I (as usual) didn't follow it quite to the letter, but the gist is there :) My texture is in the form of my embossing folder.

The good and the bad about CTMH cardstock is that it has a white core which is mostly good (lol) and so after I embossed it, I sanded a bit of the color off and then added some chocolate distressing ink just to tone down the true orange color I was using. I also went for a slightly muted purple and kept by green to my image.

The stamp I chose is the October Flower of the month and you can probably figure out why. I stamped with black versacolor and then used clear embossing powder on 140 lb watercolor paper. Then I used my aquapainter/waterbrush and my ink pads to color it in. Watercoloring is definitely not my most used technique and I definitely need more practice, but I do like the look.

The circles on the right are some buttons and then I decided to place some Basic Grey Rhinestones to the centers for a little glitz.

We are having a leisurely morning here at home an then heading down to Seattle to meet up with my mom. She has my new purse... I will definitely share pictures tomorrow. I'm super excited to get this purse (more later). And we will also be having dinner at my sister's and boyfriend's along with my Mom.

Thanks for visiting an have a great day. If you are doing stuff for World Card Making Day have fun.

Ink: versacolor black
Stamps: October Flower of the Month (Clear Dollar Stamps)
Other: cuttlebug embossing folder, sanding block, ribbon, EK Sucess border punch, buttons, basic grey rhinestones
