Clear Dollar Stamps Sneak Peek Day #3

Happy Monday friends at least on the stamping front! We are on day 3 of Clear Dollar Stamps Sneak Peeks and there is still lots to share. Head on over to Lori's blog, Clearly iStamp to see the full reveals of the stamp sets for today and the previous days.

These are the stamp sets that are being introduced today:

  • Charlie Summer Fun
  • July Larkspur
  • August Gladiolia
  • Yard Yabber
  • Rosebud Castle

I'll be sharing samples of three of the stamp sets (so hold on to your seats) - Charlie Summer Fun, July Larkspur, and Yard Yabber. All these are great sets and so different from one another. I had a blast creating with both.

I'll start Charlie Summer Fun. We all know that Charlie is a favorite and we love to see him doing all sorts of things. With Summer Fun, we get to see him enjoying himself lounging and playing on the beach.

I had some of this great canvas fabric that was self adhesive that I picked up last year on clearance. I did end up peeling the adhesive off and then frayed the edges to give it more of a beach towel look.

I colored Charlie with Copics and made him pretty "tan". I also added some fun bright yellow polka dots in the background using a stamp called Spots a plenty. And finally I finished him off with a glistening bright yellow tube. He is ready for some water fun!!!

For my second Charlie card, I used the image of him reclining. I can honestly say I wish I was Charlie right now. Instead I'm me all by lonesome with my lovely 3 boys going on the 4th day :) Whoa... sorry, forgot we were talking about Charlie. Anyway, I used some Close to my Heart designer paper for the background and then haloed Charlie with that great pinking nestability. It has that "sun" vibe to it.

************************************************************************************************
My next stamp set I'm previewing is the July Flower - Larkspur. Again, I had a blast with this stamp set. I really enjoyed doing this first card and I think it has a great look with very little effort. I have to say that I'm definitely brayer phobic. I have one, but it doesn't get a lot of use unless you count the twins rolling it over the floor.

But, I do enjoy sponging and that is how I got the affect on this card. I first stamped my image with Versa Mark and then added clear embossing powder and then sponged away. I really love this look.

********************************************************************************************************
For my second card, I went a bit more traditional and focused just on the flower image.

I stamped with black Versacolor and then heat embossed with clear embossing powder and then used my twinkling H20's to color in my image. I then stamped with the sentiment stamp to create my background. Added some Kaisercraft Pearls and some ribbon and all done.

*************************************************************************************
And finally, my last set to share is called Yard Yabber. When I first saw this I knew that I wanted it. It is going to be perfect for those "manly" cards that everyone is always asking about. I love these images because they are "real life" ones and are really relatable to most of us. In hind site, I think I should have colored my mower in pink since I just got done mowing my own yard (hehe). Remember, hubby is taking a "fun" trip.

So, clearly no pink, but I do love this Basic Grey Lime Rickey paper. It just seemed perfect for my mower. Again, I guess I'm a pretty simple girl because I kept this pretty simple. I don't think the bright colors would be a total turn off for the guys?? If so, I say what they hey!

For my second card, I used the chainsaw image. Another great one and I had just as much fun coloring this baby in too. It colored up super fast which is always a good thing. I paired this image with what I consider a different sort of manly paper, also from Basic Grey and again, kept it simple.

So, I'm all done sharing with you for today, but head on over to visit these ladies for more sneak peeks. I hope you survived this marathon session.

Thanks so much for hanging in there with me. We've got one more day of reviews, so get those shopping carts (virtual) revving. See you tomorrow.
