Clear Dollar Paper Craft Planet Color Challenge

Hi Everyone! The twins and I just got back from the Les Schwab where we had been hanging out eating popcorn, drinking water, and running (them not me) up and down the tire aisles. Kevin left early this morning and as he was running out the door he told me I should go get the tire fixed since it was still leaking air. Anyway, I dropped Hunter off at school at 8:30am and we headed straight over. We got out of there at 10:17 :) Actually, the boys were awesome!

Anyway, I was able to get my card done for the Clear Dollar Weekend Color challenge and it was a real challenge at first. Monique picked this picture and these 4 colors. I seem to do ok with 3, but add one more and its head scratching time.

  • PINK PIROUETTE
  • CAMEO CORAL
  • KIWI KISS
  • SAHARA SAND
  • and white as neutral

Here is my card:

As I told you earlier, I am on crochet flower over load. It is completely addicting crocheting these little guys. Since I'm not a SU! gal, I substituted some colors form Close to my Heart as well as Papertrey ink. My version of Cameo Coral was a bit bright, so I decided to mute by painting my cardstock after I embossed it. Plus, I just love how the painted look seems to go with my mixer image which is from Ageless Antiques. I love that set and of course the sentiment is perfect too.

I used some crochet lace that I just purchased from Walmart last weekend and that seemed to work with my tan color too. I also used my new Blossom Nestabilities that Lori has available at Clear Dollar. I have actually used that die set a lot recently. I did curve my sentiment just a tad so it would fit onto my smaller blossom cut. I used one more stamp called Beaded Chain for my background on my pink cardstock. The green is the one color from Papertrey ink.

It took a bit to bring it all together, but I'm quite pleased with the results. Oh, I want you to know that I took 4 tries to get the perfect (at its not perfect either) stamped image of my sentiment. Yikes... I wasted a lot of cardstock cutting out that die too.

If you have time make sure to go to Lori's blog - Clearly iStamp and enter for a chance to win a yard of all the ribbon in stock - Wow! who wouldn't love that. Plus, I have another card on there with more crocheted flowers :) And finally, our design team leader Laurie Wilson has some glittery blog candy available too!

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day and weekend.
