Hi everyone! I hope you are having a wonderful Saturday. The fam and I are going to go down south to Nordstroms to return a pair of shoes we purchased for the boys only about a month ago. We bought 2 pairs and one is fine and the other is literally falling apart. I can't believe it since we paid $50 for these shoes for a 3 year old. I would never in my right mind spend that much, but we had gift cards... anyway, while we are down there we decided that we would also head on over to a Sushi buffet restaurant called Blue Fin. We all LOVE sushi :) Please, remind me to take my camera. I've noticed that I have not been taking pictures of late and I know that I'll regret it and I keep telling myself that I can't take pictures unless I have the camera - duh huh???
So while I'm gone, you can feast your eyes on another lovely set that will be available tomorrow at Clear Dollar Stamps along with TON of other new releases for March. It is a big month for new stamps... I know that I will have a very full cart, plus... lots of other goodies will be available come March 1st. I'm so psyched for some awesome charms and other fun stuff at the store. If you head on over, you will be able to check out some of those fun new things.... shh.... I didn't say.... *wink, wink*. I was so tempted to place 2 separate orders, but I'm being a good girl and only placing one, but trust me it will be first thing on the 1st.
So, enough of the blabbering (sorry)... as I said earlier, today's peeks are of flowers - Daisies! This set is another really cute one and you just can't go wrong with Daisies. My first card features my new found love of watercoloring. I've decided that the key is the watercolor paper. Up to this point, I've always managed with nice quality cardstock, but the watercolor lets you color and color forever without ever breaking down. For this card, stamped my image with Black Versacolor and melted clear embossing powder over that. I used my ink pads and a waterbrush to color in my image. And then I used my Nestabilities Label One to cut and mat my image. Here's a close up of the coloring for you.
For my next card, I decided to go for a brighter and definitely a cheery color scheme. I based my card around the ribbon that I had purchased a long while back at Michaels. What I did was took the font stamp in the set and used Versamark to stamp the entire background of the cardstock. I used clear embossing powder and then I took a sponge and its hard to tell in the picture, but I used multiple colors and sponged them over the entire background. In this case, I wasn't interested in being able to read the words, but rather just knowing that there were words in the background. I then stamped my smaller daisy image 3 times and used my deckled nesties to cut out each one. Before I removed my cut though, I took another sponge and sponged the entire piece with a light blue. Then, when I removed the die, I get a really crisp white border around the cut.
Well that its for me, but make sure to stop by Laurie's, Tori's, and Candy (via Clearly iStamp blog) to see some more delicious eye candy!
Thanks as always for coming to visit me and I'll make sure to eat a spicy tuna roll for you (hehe)

Wow! Super gorgeous! Your watercoloring is just awesome!
Very pretty indeed! I love the colors scheme on both of them. These Daisies are wonderful, great cards.
And I wouldn't of paid that for kids shoes either without a gift card. hee hee Sorry you had such bad luck with one.
Wow! Both of them are beautiful! The colors are wonderful and so are your designs! I especially like the first one!
