Some of my Favorite Things

Hello to you. I finally got my tree up and decorated and I was sitting here looking at it and just loving it. We picked out a smallish tree, but it fits the house and space and all our ornaments and I have just been so pleased with it.

Anyway, I thought I would share some of my favorite old and new ornaments with you. I personally prefer white lights, but ever since the kiddo was allowed to make the Christmas tree light choice he picks colored every year so we have colored.

This first picture is of a bird that Kevin brought with him via his Mom. What is the history Ann? I just know that it is older... Anyway, we have a handful of these little birdies on clips that we attach to the tree. They are pretty heavy so they have to be clipped onto the sturdier branches.

This next one is one that my sister sent to me when the twins were born. I think its so cute with all our names on it.

This one is a sea shell of course and I purchased it when Hunter was 10 months old and were down in Morro Bay. There used to be a family house in the right on the water. The sea shell is all super glittery.

This one is one that I've had since I was a little girl. I don't remember who, why, where I got it, but I took it with me when I left home and put on my tree every year.

This one was given to me by a friend for Nate and Will. It is just the cutest. There is only one so I get to keep it forever.

This one is a Hallmark ornament, I'm sure many of you have this one too. It was purchased when Hunter was born. I have 2 so he does get to take one when he leaves home.

And this little guy represents ornaments that I like to pick up for myself whenever I get a chance which hasn't been too often. I love the fragile glass white ornaments. I like to pick out Snowmen, houses/churches, and Santa's.

There is also a glass icicle next to him that we've had for years and years now too. Kevin's mom gave us several packages of the glass icicles and again we put them on the tree every year.

And finally, the very first time I saw this birdhouse template on Nichole Heady's blog I fell in love. I have always had a love for things small or miniature. Way back when, I used to buy the antique dollhouse furniture kits and put them together, stain them, varnish, etc. A while back I purged and got rid of most of my miniatures, but I still love looking at them. The little birdhouses remind of them.

I also made a bunch of these for my craft fair and was shocked that they weren't popular. I think they fit perfectly with my tree. Next year, I will add some chunkier glitter and "snow" to them.

And finally, one more paper crafted ornament to share. This is really a sneak peek (if you are still reading) of the project I'm critiquing on Craft Critique in the next day or so.

I hope you enjoyed seeing a bit of my tree and have a wonderful day.

Birds like the one pictured came from Grandma Kitchen, she loved all birds and always had them on the Christmas tree. Kevin loved her tree as a child and wanted birds on his tree too.........

I loved seeing your tree :) Made me glad I'm keeping mine up until Thursday night. I just went out there, lit it up, turned off the lights and enjoyed it all over again! Thanks Katie!
