Limelight Papercrafts Cookie Wrap Up Extravaganza

I know all you bloggers know exactly how I feel right now because I had a completed post and I am always irritated with how my pictures and text are formatted so I was playing with it afterwards and due to my own stupidly I managed to delete the entire post - can the heavens hear my screams of agony!!!

Anyway, back to our regular programming. Mandy, our fearless Limelight Leader challenged the DT to create some sort of cookie/treat packaging with a matching card or recipe. I enjoyed creating my project.

My idea all stemmed from a mitten cookie cutter that I purchased at Joanns. Here is a picture of my cookies all baked and decorated. This is my all time favorite recipe and comes from one of my very bestest friends in the world - I'm waving to you Lisa!!!

Here is a picture of my complete ensemble. I used Little Yellow Bicycle Paper Pad from Limelight. I have gotten a lot of mileage from this paper pad. I adore it and I still have plenty of paper to play with.

I wanted to keep my mitten them so I created a template to create the card and the top of my box. My box is actually fairly small since my purpose wasn't to package up all the cookies, but rather a sample of them and then add the recipe and the cookies cutter along my gift. I made the box lid and then just attached my mitten template to it. The mitten top and the mitten card are the same template. The mitten tag is actually the size of the cookie cutter. I used my cutter to trace the tag. I quickly lined my box with freezer paper, but you could use wax paper if that's what you have. This prevents any oils from spreading to the cardstock.

Here is view from the top. I also decided to write my recipe right inside my card. I figured that the recipient could just copy the recipe using their own recipe system. I also considered word processing it, but decided I liked the look of hand written, although I'm not a huge fan of my own penmanship. I know most of you can relate to that one.

And one more view from the side. The snowflakes are from a Martha Stewart punch and I added just a bit of sparkle with some stickles. The sentiment on my mitten and the little tag are from Unity Co.'s Bitty Christmas Tags - again, another favorite stamp set of mine.

{Recipe}
Cardstock: Colonial White (CTMH), DP: Little Yellow Bicycle, Ink: Olive (CTMH), Stamps: Bitty Christmas Tags (Unity Co.), Other: Scor-pal, CTMH Ribbon, Chalk Ink, Martha Stewart Snowflake Punch, Stickles
