Hip Hop Hangover

Hi everyone! I did my first Unity Hip Hop yesterday. I had read about it on other blogs, but just hadn't gotten the chance to play along, until yesterday. It was fun and there was definitely a lot of freebies - way generous for sure.

One of the events were two card challenges hosted by Jeanne Streiff - Inky Paws. Both were fun and luckily I had a chance to finish both.

The first one was called "Don't Distress - Distress" and if you didn't' guess it the main theme was to distress somehow. I decided to go the easy route and distress with a little bit of chalk ink and then take my edge distresser and rough up my cardstock. I used a Unity stamp called Sleigh Ride and added a Hero Arts sentiment to it. I used my Copics to color my image and added some Kaisercraft pearls to my card. I ended up keeping this card very simple. I love seeing the Kraft paper.

A big nod to my stamping friend Becky who let me borrow that stamp from Unity :)

The 2nd challenge was called Christmas Pie Color Challenge. The pie I picked was Pumpkin Pie. I know its more of a Thanksgiving Pie, but I like to eat it through the entire holiday season. I used the stamp set Luke 2:14 Glorius Angel. I stamped her with Memento Tuxedo Black and then colored her in with some copics and accented with Copic Spica Atyou Glitter Pens. I also embossed my paper and then painted all of it with some Shimmerz. I also painted the dress with the Shimmerz too.

Here's a close up to try and show you the shimmer a bit better.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

To answer your question on my blog, my oldest boy is 7 and the twins are 2 1/2. I see your boys are similiar in age to mine! Everyone says boys are easier to raise, but I don't know...We have visited the ER more than I would like to this year!
