Its all about the kiddos

Here are a couple of things I've been working on. The first is a card that I finished up last night and is actually from a set that I borrowed from my Mom who is my best customer :) I decided to color this image up to celebrate the first day that the twins were in a "child care" setting which was on Tuesday. Isn't this the cutest baby image?

I have a fabulous neighbor who sent out an email over the summer asking for anybody who was interested in childcare duties for her Church's MOPS program. The requirement was for 2 days a month and get this it was paid. I e-mailed her back and voila, last Tuesday was the first day that I was able to go and the boys get to be in a room with same aged children and they had a blast. I was in the 1 year old room and yes, they were all very cute.

When it was time to leave, Will cried and said "I hate home". Hate is one of his favorite words these days - lucky me.

So back to the card. I decided to go with fall colors since we are headed down that road. All babies have to grow up huh? I colored in my image with none other than my copics (lol). I decided to only pop up some of the petals and went every other one. Love the look it gives. The sentiment is from an Impression Obsession set and the little paper flowers are Close to my Heart and I finished those with a dab of gold Stickles.

My next project is something that isn't terribly glamorous, but definitely necessary. It has been int he back of my mind to make for a long time and I just hadn't gotten around to it. Now that its done, I'm hopeful and excited that it will make a difference.

We decided that Hunter could get an allowance, but we felt that he needed to do specific jobs on a weekly basis to earn it. We've been working on getting him to do these jobs, but they weren't getting done and I am getting tired of being the non-consistent nag about it. So... now withe chart I've been able to "help" him be more responsible.

I was also looking for a way to minimize my work along with something that would last. I created a "parking" spot and depending on what needs to be done, I move the stars to the "To Do" list and then when its done, Hunter can move it to the "Done" category. If things don't get done, then I just take money away from the weeks total.

I made chart using a word document then printed it on cardstock, trimmed it up and then glued it onto another piece of cardstock. I used Cosmo Cricket for the background (just darn pretty, but not girlish paper). The stars were cut using my Cricut using one layer of cardstock and 2 layers of thin chipboard. I wanted the pieces to be substantial. I then added stickles on the top of each star. I decided to use Stickles because once it dries it doesn't flake like plain glitter and since it was going to be handled often it needed to be secure. Then I added self adhesive velcro to the board and the backs to the stars. I have found the best velcro because it is the thinnest in the craft section at Walmart. Hunter's name was also cut using my Cricut.

Ok, I think that about wraps it up. Have I said that I need to get sewing??? Hope you have a great Thursday! Where is the week going?
