Hey all, hope your day is treating you well. Today, I've got a card that I specifically made for a good friend. This is my first Pure Innocence set from My Favorite Things and I got it "free". I put free in quotes because I had gone through my stash and sent it down my mother's way and she was able to sell it at her local scrapbooking store's garage sale. Not only did she sell it for me she gave me the credit to the store... what a mom huh?

Anyway, this image is one that I picked out and she is super cute. Hopefully, she won't be my last.

I colored her in with my Copics and paired her with some of my very first Papertrey ink paper

One last My Favorite Things Challenge

So, I have been working on this card for the last couple of days. A little here and a little there. It wasn't that the card was difficult, it was that I just didn't have a lot of bulk time to work on it. This challenge is called a paper tole technique and I think I did it right, but it appears to have some slight variations when I was looking it up. I would love to try something like this with the right stamp.

The way I did it was: I stamped my image 3 times, colored them all (copics) and then cut out the pieces that I wanted to pop dot. So, the boots have one extra layer pop dotted on
top of the original image, the dress is pop dotted twice over the original image and the umbrella is pop dotted 3 times but without the original image because I wasn't sure where I was going to place the umbrella until I was done. I also embossed the umbrella for a cool shiny affect. I really like how it turned out.

No sentiment for the card yet just because I don't know what I want to use it for yet, but it will be easy to place on there at some point.

Try this technique if you haven't yet. It was a lot of fun to do and creates a really cool looking card.

Another MFT Challenge Card

Hi all, just a quickie post today. This is another My Favorite Things challenge card, which was to make 3x3 notecard and matching envelope. I used MFT Dino-Mite stamp set again and put it on a 3x3 card. The sentiment on the envelope is a studio g stamp.

Challenge Cards and Blogger update

Hurray for my hubby again. This time he figured out exactly what was wrong with my blogger and was able to fix it this morning. There was something wrong with some html code in one of my pasts from the 30th. That little bit messed everything up. It still had to do with IE though and that is because it is just more "sensitive" than other browsers. But all I care about is the fact that it is fixed!!! SO happy about that one.

So, I didn't get a chance to make much the last couple of days and got a chance today. I really like how both these cards turned out and they are both based on challenges. This first one is a My Favorite Things challenge card. It was new release time and every month, MFT gives everyone the chance to be a guest designer by issuing a different challenge each month. No luck for me yet, but its always fun to play. Go check it out. Plus, MFT has some great stamps.

For this card, I used a MFT stamp set called Dino-Mite and colored it in with my Copics. I didn't mean to do so much coloring, but that is the way it ended up. The challenge was to use black cardstock and a black embellishment. The embellishment that I wanted to focus on was the button, but guess what? - no black button - so I made my own. I put Versamark on the front and then covered it with black embossing powder, added a bit of heat, and voila - a great black button.

This second card is based on Erica's color challenge. Her color choices were Chocolate and Cafe au Lait. Well, I see Cafe anything and coffee comes to mind. My colors are CTMH chocolate and Brown Bag cardstock and the main image is Impression Obsession "Smell the Coffee" set that I got from Carrie at My Little Stamp Shack. (BTW - head on over; she's giving away some candy). I heat embossed the image and then used Liquid Applique to make the foam on the latte cups. I also used a copic to color in the cup too. What can I say except that I LOVE this set! I used my nesties to mat and frame and my MM slot punch for the ribbon. The sentiment is from a Hero Arts set - called "Coffee"

Stamp Something Challenge Blog

Over at Stamp Something Challenge Blog, the challenge was actually a sketch by a guest designer. For my card, I used the new Kraft cardstock from Papertrey ink as the base, used Barn Red from Close to my Heart and then accented it with Basic Grey Dinosaur designer paper. As soon as I saw that paper, I knew that I wanted to use this stamp set from My Favorite Things called Dino-Mite. I colored in my dinosaur with Copics and then used the blender pen to create the splotchy look. I used my Nesties to cut out the circles and the scallop.

I'll be your umbrella

Good morning! I am glad that it is Wednesday - that means my very missed hubby will be home tomorrow. My oldest and I immediately came down with some sort of head cold as soon as he left. I have just been winded these last couple of days.

Here is a card that I created for the MFT challenge that they have over on Splitcoast every month for their guest designer. The challenge was to use a background stamp for something other than a background and it got a life of its own. It got pretty busy looking, but was fun nonetheless.

All the paper is Papertrey ink in their new colors and I sort of cheated because I didn't use a standard background stamp to stamp my flower, but rather a label stamp from Limitless Labels. I used the same stamp to paper piece her dress and the little doggies coat. The bow looks a little weird there but I wanted to hide part of the stamp outline. Next time, if I put her on the oval, I will mask off the frame. And of course the main shape is from the stamp set Rain or Shine. This set just spoke to me since I live the Pacific Northwest. Umbrellas make me think of here, but to be honest, true Washingtonians don't use umbrellas. :)

Rain, Rain, go away - Friends Brighten Your Day

I got this new stamp set in the mail and I love it. It just speaks to me because of living in the Northwest. Its not like we Washingtonians aren't used to the rain, but... I love living here, but yesterday I felt just a little blue and I knew that I wanted to make a card in blues and with my new stamp set. Plus it has been cold too and then you add the rain on top of it and it can down right get gloomy.

I didn't get around to making this card until last night, but I like it. Hope you do too.
All cardstock (moonstruck and garden green), inks, button, and ribbon is CTMH. The stamp set is called Rain or Shine from My Favorite Things and the flower is Prima. The really cool thing is that the flower was FREE (a gift) from eclectic Paperie and was in my order as a celebration for the 1 year anniversary. How cool is that !?!
