Another quickie post today. I made this card a few days ago using a Riley stamp that I've had for a bit. I just love these Rileys (I just don't have enough) :)

I colored my Riley in with my Copics, used my nesties to cut him and the scalloped mat and added some ribbon. The background circles were made with Papertrey ink's Polka Dot Basics. I have to say that this set is exactly what is says - a basic. It definitely one of my favorite reach to's. The other background paper is from my stash (actually Christmas stash)

But I Need It....

Good morning! Today's card was made for Card Positioning Systems (CPS) sketch #75. Again, more great blog candy - how can a person resist making fun cards with the chance of winning some love!

So, I pulled out my one Hanna stamp and I do adore her. She is obviously my favorite. I did a lot of paper piecing, more than I had intended. The cutting of all the bags was a bit painstaking, but still all worth it in the end.

The entire time I was doing this card, I was thinking of my friend Emily from Em's Closet. Papertrey ink's newest release included some very pretty Dark Chocolate ribbon. Early on, Em made the connection between the Dark Chocolate Polka Dot Ribbon and the dress that Julia Roberts wore to the Polo Match in Pretty Woman, SO... those were the thoughts running through my head while I was making this card and why I chose the coloring and paper that I did. If it all doesn't make sense just keep on trucking... you know how it is :)

So back to the card. The base is PTI Dark Chocolate cardstock, paired with Lavender Moon and some Vanilla Cream. I stamped polka dots with Palette Burnt Umber ( the new PTI Dark Chocolate) using Polka Dot Basics. I also stamped Polka Dots for Hanna's dress, but I used a stamp from Too Sweet made by CD Stamps. The polka dots were just slightly closer together. I colored my Hanna with my Copics and added just a touch of stickles on the bags and on my sentiment.

The 4th, A Riley Birthday, and an Award

Good morning! I am back home and what a weekend! It is always nice visiting my sister's place because she and her hubby are the best hosts ever! Lots of food, drinks, and attention. My niece and nephew (especially my niece) just dote on the twins. Here is a picture of their very fun pool.

And now to my card. July 2nd was my sister's birthday and this was the card I made for her. I used the Sophie G Cake Moose stamp from Hanna Stamps but masked off the majority of the cake. I think having the one layer cake is more of a birthday look. I added a candle from one of my other stamp sets. I paired the stamp with Papertrey ink's Pink Patterns designer paper.

My first Sophie G Moose Card

Happy Thursday!! The "work" week and in my world the "school" week is winding down. This week has actually gone by relatively quickly. I'll get a nice relaxing evening because I'm taking the boys and heading on over to a friend's house for dinner. Yay, no cooking for me. Its always a struggle when my hubby leaves town because that means I have to cook and grocery shop. Which reminds me that I had wonderful plans to go to Joann's and blow my several 50% off coupons yesterday morning after I dropped my oldest off at school. At Joann's right at 9am when they opened and home right at 9:30am!

The twins never want to be in their stroller anymore and Nate had this "thing" yesterday where he just screamed the whole time we were in there. He was screaming and crying so hard that he started to get splotchy looking around his brows. One lovely Mom came up and said she completely understood because she happened to be a mother of a set of 10 year old twins and I did get to chat with a friend of mine that happened to be shopping, but towards the end, I was starting to get the "stares" from other customers and employees.

Don't get me wrong, I totally understand that they too are trying to enjoy themselves, but are the stoney faced unsympathetic looks necessary??? I don't know, for some reason it seems like I've been getting the "looks" lately. It just makes me say "grrr".

Anyway, sorry, I'm done ranting and I'll probably attempt a trip there before the weekend. So, I get a free dinner and my lovely friend is going to watch the boys for me for a bit so I can go hang out with some other twin moms from my multiples group. Plus I signed up to be a mentor twin mom to a mom who is expecting twins in a couple of months and I will get the opportunity to meet her tonight.

Now, for myMoose card. I think he's very cute and my brother's birthday is in a few days so I whipped this up last night. I also got to use my copics and overall, I'm pleased with the way the card turned out. I wanted something pretty simple but cute. Sophie's cake looks a little weddingish, but that's ok. I guess he deserves a big cake :)

I'm in love with Hanna

I've been seeing Hanna cards everywhere, or at least everywhere I looked (haha) so I finally ordered my first one, plus a couple of Rileys, but I haven't gotten to those yet...

Anyway, I paper pieced her dress which really reminded me a little of all those paper dolls I use to like playing with. Then I colored the rest of her with my new copics which I ordered from Eclectic Paperie - they are an awesome shopping stop! I absolutely love my copics so far. It was really like I was putting her together and it was so satisfying when she was all "dressed". I thought she shaded pretty well, but I'm still working on this aspect of using copics. I've read about lots of people going to trainings on using copics and I hope one comes near me sometime.

Side note: Yeah! Today is my birthday and my hubby comes home! Every year though when my birthday comes around and I always joke with my family and friend that I'm a) lucky to be here in the states, because if we were all in Korea we would all be a year older (I was told that Koreans traditionally are considered 1 when they are born - if this incorrect please let me know) and b) maybe I'm even younger because since I was adopted there was no official record of my birth, just what a 4 1/2 year old would say. Hmmm... no, I am very happy to call myself 37 - Yikes! that looks awfully close to 40. (I'm lol right now, ok I'm actually col (coughing out loud)).
